Welcome Jen! And there was I thinking it was just hattie & I...do come out of the woodwork all you ladies!

Jules, you beat me to it re the land for housing/redundant car parks... wouldn't it be great to be able to see in to the future...hopefully with the help of companies like VRS the UK might not be such a bad place for our children & grandchildren to grow up in.

So we keep saying, what next for graphene.

Did anyone see that coming?

Potentially for Axia it could from every part of the structure, from reinforcement to wiring and heating and of course we know graphene is being tested in solar panels.

Just looking at Axia it's nice to see such a company so forward thinking and making great progress.

One obvious use I was thinking of is those outside offices and gyms or the like that many have in their gardens, pine log cabins and so on.

Then the mobile homes, holiday camps etc. Flat pack and build and site in 1 or a few days instead of those taking 2 lanes of the motorway trips.

The problem with UK housing is that we have been taught to view our houses as appreciating assets rather than a place to live.

Maserati? Isn't that something Deborah Meaden would drive ;-)

I have been finding myself browsing the Porsche site a bit more often these days :-)

Excuse me repeating this bit (thread has rolled on a hundred posts since last mention):

"Whereas Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Motors are household names, little is known about the companies in their supply chains enabling them to succeed. One such company is Axia Materials Co., Ltd.,"

As a taxpayer i would describe the £23b housing benefit bill forecast for 2018/19 as indicative of a crisis. We can do better than this ? We must. Affordable housing and rents is a great stabilising force in society ie to help people feel they have a stake in it ; if only to help motivate people to'get on and do!' Hopefully 2D solutions can help here re economic and environmental hurdles? But as suggested, the answer lies in political will. Aimo. Best ellis.

I empathise with that. I have one more car to enjoy , hopefully.I spend hours on autotrader.com there's so many wonderful filters .I always look for one with depreciation taken off. But maybe.....It must NOT have privacy glass and standard wheels will do.I think a Maserati would be too wide for Yorkshire Dales work ...but.Good luck.

Spike, I don't think land for development is going to be a problem once autonomous ubers arrive. Plenty of brownfield car parks will be turned into housing then. Watch Seba again!

Of course if Brexit happens we'll have a mass exodus / be full of Indians & Chinese it workers (delete according to your political views)

Yes Spike, very impressive!

A very forward looking company so it would seem
Also from the article:

“We are developing ‘click-in’ solar roof panels using LitePan modular roof systems to further reduce installation and maintenance costs,” says Jin. “We are also using small wind turbines for power as well as to generate air current, forcing airflow through the space between the solar panels and the roof.”

btw digital link below that will be an easier read for those on mobile devices as you do not need to open pdf.

Indeed...available land.

Nice news this morning, it’s not hard to imagine a £2+ price being that far away now.

I do chuckle at the shorts ;)

ade: re your:

i'm now on holiday almost through a bottle of pauliac '06.
should i worry :-)

Nah, absolutely no need to worry at all!
Although I would add - don't make too many long term plans that can't be easily cancelled.

Best wishes - Spike
p.s. have you considered selling your return ticket - just a thought ;0)

Actual building houses isn't the biggest problem in the UK - it's the planning permission and - to a degree - the green belt.

INKS = Cash Floq

NANENE = Profit

I have mentioned this before.

Do like the idea of everyone designing their flat pack Nanene house in the future. If someone could get hold of just what this all means and how to do it as well as offering a sevice then I would help finance someone.

For the UK it is a political changer as the next General Election will be fought over on housing.

Bootie - thanks for that extract, very illuminating.
I find this gobsmaking!:
Even when outside temperatures hit 115°F/46°C, the buildings maintain
78°F/26°C inside, without air conditioning, thanks to the R-25
panels,

Cheers - Spike
