The above on it's own looks old hat :), missed to post this article.

'Innovate UK's (London, UK) Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) reports it has launched a Graphene Special Interest Group that is focused, in part, on commercialization of graphene in composites manufacuring. Ajay Kapadia, knowledge transfer manager materials-composites, at KTN, says graphene offers properties that make it a potentially strong addition to composite parts and structures.

The purpose of the special interest group, says Kapadia, is to provide a forum through which graphene suppliers can connect with composites fabricators to work together to integrate graphene into finish products. There are 80 companies in the Graphene Special Interest Group and Kapadia hopes to increase that number to 200-250.

Graphene, which consists of 1-atom-thick, 2D platelets, is typically added to the resin matrix and offers to composites good electrical and heat conduction properties, which make it a good candidate for lightning strike protection and exotherm mitigation. Kapadia says the most immediate challenge is to work with fabricators to better understand how and in what volumes graphene can be worked into manufacturing processes.

To that end, the Knowledge Transfer Network will host workshops to help identify technincal gaps in composites processing, and will exhibit at the Advanced Engineering Show 2017 Nov. 1-2 in Birmingham, UK.

This white paper offers a summary of the currtent state of the art in graphene technology.

Contact Kapadia at ajay.kapadia@ktn-uk.org for more information.

They all start to ramp up again in September, I don't know how many take some off the table at this time of year to pay for holidays, but always a better time to invest in the companies that you are interested in.

Great info JH. It's the same on all graphene shares and has been for some time, it's never really got out of first gear

That said low volume and interest seems typical for many AIM shares over the last few months.

I suspect a few in various industries with no revenue are going to struggle.

Vrs will have some things lined up to chat about. As they say by the time it's news for us it's 6 months out of date.

Haydale had a really strange share price reaction late yesterday. Small volume then about £15k to £20k of selling before that dive.

On the volume and circs it seems completely unjustified.

Daily volume/trading appears to be slowly returning back to its 2016 - 2015 days.

Returning back to trend.

How the xxxx can someone vote down a post which shows Prof Ferrari receiving another award. Must be a drunken loser with the DT's who can't control his shaking and involuntarily hit the dislike button. Sad dratsab!

....or they may sadly have Parkinsons

Just a thought

The Simply Wall Street article has nothing new, the problem with looking at the figures (although important) is you look at the past and not current ans future prospects.
However it can keep ones feet on the ground.

Part of your problem is that you make assumptions without any foundation supern, always interested in why people do things and no, and no!

"The University has more than 230 researchers working on graphene research across a wide breadth of disciplines and subjects."

With over 120 enquiries and 230 researchers it can only be a matter of time before some substantial commercial success.

Does Versarien plc’s (AIM:VRS) Low Debt-Load Make It Financially Strong?
Scott Perkins July 7, 2017
Versarien plc (AIM:VRS), with a market capitalization of USD $29 Million, is considered a small-cap company. Although such businesses are the ones which could grow the most, they are also highly prone to a downturn in the country’s economy or even a specific region. It’s low debt-to-equity ratio of 25.5% does make it look financially sound, but we must also check how its cash flows and earnings stand against its debt.

Primarily due to the lack of diversification in revenues geographically, often investors opt for a bundle of small-caps. While savvy investors aren’t wrong in looking for singular blockbuster opportunities and trying to achieve diversification on their own by allocating a small part of their portfolio capital to small-caps, that doesn’t make these investments less risky individually. However, to help you reduce that risk, I’m going to provide you with few basic aspects other than debt-to-equity ratio to gauge a ballpark estimate on how financially strong is the company.

Does Versarien’s liquidity position also indicate financial strength?

To test Versarien’s financial condition further, I would weigh its current assets against the total debt. The level of current assets indicates VRS’s ability to survive a downturn, which most companies face several times in their life cycle. VRS’s current assets of £5 Million cover the company’s total debt of $2 Million, indicating that the company is in a sound position to pay-down its debt when needed or favourable.

Are VRS’s earnings squeezed by its debt-obligations?

A different way of looking at financial health is to compare Versarien’s earnings and interest-obligations. While both these numbers are taken from the income statement, they are important in assessing whether Versarien can easily service its debt during adverse conditions. In an ideal situation, earnings should cover interest by at least a 5x multiple; thus, reducing any concerns related to high volatility in net income due to small fluctuations in operating performance. In VRS’s case the company is making a loss, therefore interest on debt is not well covered by earnings.

Final words

With such low debt on its balance sheet, while Versarien appeared to be a financially healthy company, its operating cash flows and earnings tell a different story. It needs to do a lot of work on its profitability and operational efficiency to be designated as a financially strong company. Now when you know whether you should keep the debt in mind as a risk factor when putting together your investment thesis, I recommend you check out our latest free analysis report on Versarien to see what are VRS’s growth prospects and whether it could be considered an undervalued opportunity.

Now supern, 'time to grow up' ? I have no argument with you but a little pot kettle black there.

Your strategy to get the price down , if that is what it is, is pointless on a bb. Why persist in posting when it appears your only interest is to question what the company does but never speak to them, don't get it???

Surely your time could be better spent looking at companies you do like, or is retirement more about satisfying your desire to poke people with a stick?

Just interested to know?

Oh dear, did something upset poor little sg? Time to grow up, I think, and stop the silly and pointless personal attacks - it only shows you're losing the rational argument. Oh, and BTW, your 'recall' is wrong, yet again.

Ref Jacqui Murray - this is what she tweeted:

'The material of comic books in @OldcastleSchool today... Graphene sample for 3D printing'

And it seems she's even more of an authority than the local nursery school teacher ;¬)

I hope the kids are saving their pocket money for the next 'very large' order!

I've got hundreds filtered - yes, it's true! - I heartily recommend it. Difference with me and sg is that I actually do it, and then feel relieved they're gone, while sg's such an obsessive he really can't bring himself to not know what was said.

And by the way, sg, I know you read my posts ;¬) There's hard evidence if you know where to look for it...

lucky - how would I know? I've had a few people claim to filter me, but the evidence always points in the opposite direction. I have to say though that I rather like the idea of sg filtering me, then having to go find his mate who tells him what I wrote, so he can respond to what his mate told him I wrote. Not surprising he gets the wrong end of the stick from time to time!

Anyway, the fact, to which no-one has bother to respond, is that the ABS graphene-infused filament has not been launched in any meaningful sense (see previous posts), and nor is it a product in any meaningful sense (part number, specs, ordering details etc).

I'm clearly the only one who sees the resemblance to the copper foam PC that never was, so I'll leave it there. We watch and wait, as ever...

You'll find the filter button eventually.

I have about 80 filtered. Once I get to the point of realising they have no interest and don't do any search or are just plain out to stir things up I filter them.

If you can't see it you can't reply and due to the history know it's not worth reading anyway.
