They did have some positivity in their last RNS. Maybe he's more knowledgeable than pi's on this?

"We are in discussions to license our manufacturing technology to a larger scale, automated plant and we have received expressions of interest from others to build similar plants elsewhere in the world."

It’s definitely a healthy purchase, so he must have some insider information. You don’t just buy £400k of a sinking ship if that’s unless you work in salvage

Not heard of this John Celaschi but the RNS suggested he was buying not selling. Moved from 8.34% to 10.59%?

Yes solar has to be a prime growth market..non-commodity products.
Need to get acceptance/approvals of their range and strong sales growth will ensue.

I am sure you are right about the burger van and I bet the owner pays him/herself less than our RR. On a positive though the loss per share has come down compared to previous periods :-) have faith; this one will come good

It is nice to see us get mentioned at last.

What Are The Lightest Solar Panels?
Generally, a 60-cell and 250-watt solar panel weigh around 40 pounds. But you will find many lightweight solar panels that weigh less than average. Lightweight solar panels are made of silicon wafers.

There are many grid-connected lightweight solar panels available for residential and commercial use. Sunman, Verditek, and eArc are such products. They are robust, glass-free, and durable. Most importantly, they are 70% lighter and 95% thinner than standard solar panels.

Plus, they are also flexible and require less time to install. But it’s apparent that you’ll have to spend more money on these solar panels. Apart from that, small solar panels like 50W and 100W are also smaller and lightweight.

I think the problem is deeper than that - it's not just the silicon, it's the whole installation. This for example gives a wider view of the issue:

VDTK make the high efficient lightweight monocrystalline silicon solar panels.

They can be 85% plus recycled.

Monocrystalline solar panels are made of 3 main components:

Monocrystalline cells: Around 85% of the silicon wafers are recycled
Glass: Almost 95% of the glass can be reused
Metal: 100% of the metal parts are recyclable

I've read several articles lately on the coming blight of unrecyclable solar panels. Has vdtk ever said anything on the subject?

Plenty of room for all sorts of players in this market. It's about having a cost effective robust product and global sales. VDTK may be getting there.

Printed solar panels:

I don't know how the cost compares to VDTK panels, nor how efficient they are, but they are obviously very flexible.

It's all on this Proton tie up now.Sales have always been the problem and it looks like sales are something Proton are good at.We will just have to wait and see.I don't think people will jump back in here until they get some hard evidence of good regular sales

Interesting that JC has gone back in again. Understand he is close to the company, probably why he sold out last time!

After months of laboratory trials "We eventually found the right solution"

Bradclad Group secures JV with Protan AB

Verditek PLC

Verditek's distribution partner Bradclad Group secures important JV with Protan AB, one of Europe's largest Membrane roofing manufacturers.

Separately, Verditek secures its first order in Single Ply Membrane Roof market segment

Verditek plc, (AIM:VDTK), the international clean technology company that develops, manufactures and sells certified lightweight solar panels, is delighted to announce its role as exclusive supplier of lightweight solar panels to the new joint venture between its distribution partner Bradclad Group (www.bradcladgroup.com), the Yorkshire-based roof system manufacturer, and Protan AB (www.protan.com), the Norwegian-based manufacturer of PVC single ply roof membranes and the second largest, single ply roofing membrane supplier in Europe. This JV has led to the launch of 'Protan Solarbond' exclusively utilising Verditeks lightweight flexible solar panels.

Importantly, the integration of Verditeks's light weight solar into a market leading membrane roofing product, enables solar to be utilised in large-scale applications where traditional heavy glass solar cannot. These include large out of town retail sheds, warehouses and factories.

Furthermore, at the request of Protan AB, samples will be delivered over the course of this month to 35 of their European sales representatives as they roll this product out across the continent.

Background

Having previously incorporated the Verditek thin film solar modules into their metal roof panels to create their Energi-Roof system, Bradclad Group have now developed a solution for the flat roof market by laminating the solar panel onto a single ply roof membrane. Following the successful completion of a 12 month R&D and testing programme , Verditek has secured the first commercial order for a Single Ply Membrane Roof project in the UK.

The order is at a holiday park in the north of England powering the recreational facility and is the first of fifteen similar sites within the same group. The solar panels have already been shipped from our factory in Milan and will be laminated to the single ply membrane sections in the UK and installed at site within the coming 6 weeks.

Rob Richards, CEO of Verditek plc, commented "We are delighted to be working with Bradclad and their partner Protan in the single ply membrane roof market. Following extensive development with our partner, the Company is now poised to enter the large-scale industrial market with its light-weight solar product partnering with one of Europe's major membrane roofing manufacturers. With ever increasing energy prices, more and more factories and warehouses need to install solar systems to remain competitive and this cost effective lightweight solution is ideal for both new build and existing structures"

Commenting on the development Bradclad Group's director Keith Bradley explains: "We knew the potential for integrating Verditek's flexible solar modules onto PVC flat roof membranes was huge but we first had to overcome the challenge of bonding together very different materials. Following dialogue with specialist adhesives companies and months of laboratory trials, we eventually found the right solution."

Or your views on GM's buy the other year, see yours still saying the same re his £300k this year!

Nickharvey
Or, you could take the view that, a board member (someone who knows the pipeline) being happy to lend £600k to the company for 3 to 6 months in return for a modest £30k/£60k profit is a very positive signal. Particularly when this is in addition to him previously participating to the extent of £1m in a convertible note issued by the company. I’d say that this amounts to a strong vote of confidence in the company’s future by someone in the know!

NH,You said the same thing at 8p!!!!

I agree. 8p would still only value the company at £23m, a tiny valuation relative to the market opportunity!

Almost a 10 bagger in reverse!
