Isn't Amec Foster Wheeler thought to be a bag of nails. Will it be a drag on Wg. or can they rationalize it quickly. Issuing paper saves cash, but increases annual spend on dividends.
Diversification is a good move, given comments that O&G will continue to be depressed for 2017.
If the market sees the corporate activity as positive Wg, could pop.

Skg will be my main focus for now, I have a bit of catching up to do -:)

A pension is not yours, it is a promise that the government sees as a source of funds.

UK Budget change
Those looking to move a UK pension offshore face a 25 per cent tax charge under a dramatic crackdown on pension transfers. The tax charge, announced in the Budget, will apply to individuals requesting transfers to qualifying recognised overseas pension schemes (Qrops) on or after March 9 2017.

APAD, appreciated thanks.

The deal appears to diversfiy the group and reduce O&G dependance,
whether that is a successful strategy remains to be seen.

The cost savings appear very attractive.

Mentioned the BAB realigment conference call earlier this week,
I can see the longer term potential, short term share price less sure of.

You could make money on WG. with your short term timing, and they might well be able to plunder AMEC medium term, but their long-term share price will depend on the context - big companies need big orders.

RDSB - size.
SOU - real estate on land
ABC - Amazon of antibodies
RSW - Specialist niche.

Stopping talking about FFWD like that APAD ;-) Oh, you didn't say "puppy" so OK!

Should be a good day for my HOC holding when the markets open as Yellen raised the rates and PM's reacted positively as a result. Might be a bit like my MSLH which issued a nice set of results yesterday and gained quite a bit.

Still looking at PTSG myself. Might even take some off the table in HOC if they explode northwards and join you. I know you have mentioned them for months and months. Recall you telling me they were better than STY some time ago and suggesting I look. Still looking!

Thanks APAD.You do confuse me:"I need a notion of something special that gives a company a natural edge"RDSB, SOU, ABC, RSW, what edge?, Not having a pop as respect your views, just trying to understand......clearly missing something or is it just in the eye of the holder!.DDps IMO IRIS not same market, they serve SME's not micro businesses and not direct.

It could do very well Dave, and I still like the social media aspect. It's just that the risk/reward ratio is not for me. I have a small taste for the likes of SDX where, I suspect, the risk is similar, but the reward is much greater :-)
With the likes of FREE (a proper company, not a roulette wheel) I need a notion of something special that gives a company a natural edge. This baby has to fight for every minute of life. BTW IRIS has cloud based offerings targeting the same market.
Much of my research is spent rejecting good companies:-)

Meanwhile, at the other end of the spectrum......
GSK graph against the FTSE, YTD, is very gratifying. Interesting comparison with RDSB after last year. Who says the market is efficient, not I. Great way to buy yielders - tucked away gifts that will keep on giving, whilst RSW - YTD graph is stunning - is inexplicable.
RDSB moving into trading territory, perhaps? Having timed these two to perfection I ain't ruining my record, they are tucked nicely in one of my drawers - I can't remember which one, j.
Their income will buy me risky assets like FARN, but not FREE.

APADFREE - are you saying a 60% increase in clients rather than 18% is a bad thing!, agree they have muddied up the numbers, good spot. Not concerned about IRIS (10% holding) can view it either way I suppose, but they obviously know a good thing within their own area of expertise and they are targeting a different market. Why are you concerned?.Will see I suppose :).DDps appreciate your research and it would have inspired some additional self confidence had you not broken free!.

Marvelous isn't it. I give EI the heads up on Skg then don't get chance of a dabble myself. off at a tangent on other matters and the price moves.
I must be losing the plot anyway. I turned the office upside down this morning, looking for my Wynnstay accounts. Just after lunch, the postman delivered a set of Wynnstay accounts. Strange, I had sworn that I had already received them.
I received a reply to an e-mail that I sent to another company, asking for the date of an AGM that should take place in early May ie !st to 5th ish.
The reply was they weren't sure of the date, or the venue, but it would be at 10.00am.
Gobsmacked from Glasgow.
I replied that it was unlikely the preferred venue was going to be available if not already booked, having been booked by another party. (The likely venue is extremely popular, and in a very busy location for business use). As a business, they weren't fit for purpose. PR was not a strong suit.
No reply!

Hey ho....

Not sure why I missed it dacian - in your competition entry too.
It's my sort of niche company, but not dependent on one product. Huge indulgence to buy a few as a reminder when you expect the current news to blow through though!
So, not in a hurry.

Concentrating on RSW and PTSG at the moment - couldn't be more different.

Enjoying the commentator babble blowing a bubble around Yellenspeak on CNBC.
I think those with experience of buying US low profile and resource stocks direct will win in 2017. Too late for me, no brain storage room left.
I don't understand why all that US money in tax exile can be in equilibrium - the dam has to burst. Crazy software companies wasting money on drones, rockets and self-driving cars because they don't know what to do - come back Lewis Carroll.

"I wanna break FREE..." Bad pop song, scary company. Wish them well though - too pretty for their own good. Freddie Mercury would have had a great time there.

MJ can't believe me 'n the missus broke into the bank to buy more TSTL at 90p such a short time ago!
I hope the dog is dead.

Never heard of NTQ. Had a quick look - my sort of company - bought a very small holding to remind myself that it exists!
Now to research.
But, RWS looks like a big punt if it drifts (Snow White)

Not wrong, good news dogbite looking better. Looked clean and pink, worried about antibiotic resistant infections after all my TSTL research but seems ok.

O&G services looking perky. I'm not sure that the current weakness in crude will continue.
Lets hope that RWS will reduce in concert!

FREE reply to email (nuff said):

"Hi Adrian

Thank you for getting in touch.

We have a number of legacy channels which you can read about in our Admission document. These collectively contained a total of about 8,000 subscribers at 30 September. We don't pull these channels out separately in the highlights as they are not a growth opportunity for the business but we include them in the overall subscriber total.

Hopefully that answers your question but if not, please let me know.

Kind regards
Katherine"

My reply:
"Not at all!

I am pointing out an error in your current rns on the LSE, and it’s a stamant by your CEO, who needs to know about it.

It is in your Interim Results.

This is nothing to do with your legacy documents it is your current interim results.

Please pass to your accounts department."
