14/3/2017 12:53 | At least I had a quick change on mind on SL., it's selling off quickly atm. | essentialinvestor
14/3/2017 12:51 | APAD, it's interesting, not sure what is driving the US inventory builds, could it be shale production being underestimated?. BAB realignment presentation interesting, CEO presents. No updated trading information given. | essentialinvestor
14/3/2017 12:28 | 11.5% down on the crude index, EI. I am not convinced about the current dip. If it is predicated on the Saudi gang not renewing the agreement, I don't see how they can do anything else. I train engineers (ex SERCO) from AMEC - it has been interesting to sense the cultural drift over the years. I think Wood with AMEC and Foster Wheeler is a problem in the making. Of the general O&G service, HTG is the best bet, once the balance sheet has been repaired after the CAPEX splurge. However, this drift might still feed down into the O&G engineers. apad | apad
14/3/2017 12:18 | WG, some of those buying that early Monday bounce have been rinsed. Oil on the slide again. | essentialinvestor
14/3/2017 12:14 | Beware Buffet, Moz, it's mostly image advertising. Berkshire has enormous (compounded over a long time) tax advantages. Dig a little deeper and you find a different story on all sorts of fronts. Predatory on housing for the poor, etc. apad e.g. At a hedge fund conference in Las Vegas, activist hedge fund manager Daniel Loeb, who runs the New York City-based fund Third Point, accused Buffett of failing to practice what he preaches. Without using the word “hypocrite, | apad
14/3/2017 11:51 | I was nearly 6.5% down on CPI at one stage last week, CPI Up 10% since Thursday. Only have a handful, was not that brave. | essentialinvestor
14/3/2017 10:40 | APAD Out for now, putting out a fire for a friend. Borrowed his computer to check how things are going. Will look at in detail when I get home I have a few Pru. That T Thiane who left for Credit Suisse knew what he was doing when he set the business strategy. Had I not been bank risk averse, I would have followed him. red | redartbmud
14/3/2017 10:37 | pps (FWIW) Top ten shares, EI, 80% of portfolio current value: FEVR BOO ABC RSW BVXP TSTL SOU PRV SPX AMS Good to have you back. I used to look in to SHA years ago, but three weeks with nothing but football cured me permanently. | apad
14/3/2017 10:28 | Always appreciate a very good call. | essentialinvestor
14/3/2017 10:26 | I can take any number of compliments, EI :-) It is a type of share I like. Easy to understand and well managed. To be honest I take a lot on trust now and look for anomalies, and then for an explanation. Strange how "We spent £400k assessing an acquisition and then changed our mind" engenders confidence rather than "Really, couldn't you have decided for a lot less than that" BUR was an IC tip, red and Dave - I suppose they have to be right occasionally. But I do begrudge the bunch of nitwits! red, I am assuming that the ridiculously long wait for payments that PTSG describes as normal for the industry will 'smooth out' in the current results. Does that make sense? apad | apad
14/3/2017 10:11 | APAD, you made a stunning longer term call on AMS, your gains are very well earned as you identified the potential. | essentialinvestor
14/3/2017 09:16 | AMS has been a phenomenal success, that is another company where I underestimated potential, underestimated is being very kind. On a more positive note DLG hit my short term target this morning, sold a few. | essentialinvestor
14/3/2017 08:56 | Thanks red.........ssshhhh only 4.4% now!DD | discodave4
14/3/2017 08:45 | AMS Up 100% the previous year, red :-) It's in a good sector, looking for acquisitions and not being generous with the divi. Good, innovative products. Next year it should get some currency benefit. Nice long-term share price graph, but no afterburners. £500m market cap. I've bought-the-dip five times - it's a classic company for this technique. Maybe for top-slicing too? Might miss the takeover or acquisition though. apad | apad
14/3/2017 08:20 | APAD AMS: Net cash Y.End £51.1m (£34.2m) +49% I like. red | redartbmud
14/3/2017 08:13 | Looks like u wer rite on SUN, H. New management has done a decent job. apad | apad
14/3/2017 08:12 | AMS Interesting: "Our regulatory approval process for LiquiBand® in China has continued to be challenging. Having resubmitted our files to the Chinese FDA further extensive Chinese based clinical trials have been requested. As there is a lack of clarity around the nature of the trials we have decided to cease the process until there is more certainty around what is required for approval." "We have delivered a reported 20% revenue growth, 13% at constant currency, with good profitability and cash generation during the year." Heavily hedged! Aborted acquisition suggest cautious management. FCFf down a little but last year flattered by a significant decrease in trade and other receivables. I think I must look again at how I calculate this as I am interested in bad debt and companies manufacturing for stock they cant sell. Other than that I am not bovered. Net Cash (£m) 51.10 34.20 17.30 Creditable performance and US doing well - nothing to frighten the horses. I don't expect the market to get excited. Back to sleep. apad | apad

14/3/2017 07:36 | AMS - EPS growth of 10% but on PE ratio of 30......SUN - good results, positive outlook. No reason to sell | hydrus
14/3/2017 07:33 | And over 5 years Petlover! Hilarious really. | hydrus
