My first ever post on this rubbish from 5 years ago, and my opinion remains exactly the same.. Is that long term enough lol -

I fail to see this as a business, it owns an idea which it rents out for peanuts, the rest is project management which they secure funding for to develop the ideas.

The other partners will end up controlling this at some point and investors are unlikely to see returns.

Todays announcement is essentially to bankroll a feasibility study which sounds like it's at such an early stage it will take years to develop into a functioning asset.

They don't really make money, they consume it and will do so for years, they're only on the AIM market so they can keep tapping into ongoing funding.

I don't think this is as bad as People are making out to be..results were expected to be bad. And did you really expect them not to run out of money. You have to look at this as long term and the reason why the price is this low factors in the risk you've taken. Stop moaning and either sell out or hold. What's everyone crying about!

Alliance News) - Velocys PLC on Thursday voiced concerns over its ability to continue as a going concern after it launched a fundraise and reported widened annual loss.The sustainable fuels technology company aims to raise at least GBP32 million by a placing, retail offer, open offer, a conditional issuance of convertible loan notes to Carbon Direct Capital and potential further issuances of convertible loan notes and/or new ordinary shares to investors other than Carbon Direct Capital.An accelerated bookbuild process for the placing is expected to raise a minimum of GBP6 million with the retail offer and open offer up to GBP500,000 and GBP2.0 million, respectively.But Velocys said at present it does not have firm commitments from any additional investors to subscribe for the convertible loan notes and has set a deadline of September 30 for completing this part of the fundraise.The funds will be used to provide working capital and to enable continued work on the reference projects to the point of reaching key decisions.If the convertible loan notes are issued, the company will move forward with its plans to scale up the organisation.But in the event that the convertible loan notes are not issued, further funding will be required, in addition to the GBP8 million announced today, to be able to continue as a going concern for at least twelve months."These conditions indicate the existence of a material uncertainty that may cast significant doubt on the company and Velocys PLC's ability to continue as a going concern," it said.In the year to December 31, Velocys reported revenue of just GBP200,000, down from GBP8.3 million and said it expects annual revenue to remain uneven in the short-term due to the growing but concentrated number of projects in development whilst the market becomes more established.Its pretax loss widened to GBP14.0 million from GBP9.5million the year prior.Shares in Velocys closed 0.6% lower to 3.40 pence each in London on Thursday.By Jeremy Cutler, Alliance News reporter

Think I've posted at least three times in the last 4 weeks alone warning this'll be cranking up the printing press yet again.

Exists on fund raises and grants, note the admin expenses are shooting up.

The issue is there is no revenue model on this business for some time. No revenues last year and unlikely for a while & a company that burns 1.5mln a month so in 6-12mths they will need more money. Was a clean tech licensing play but that hasn’t worked so now to do a major industrial build reliant on Uk government grants and a BA off take which all take time & a mgnt team that has not built large scale industrial sites and have overseen 5 yrs of declining share price and multiple workings capitalisation raise like this…unfortunately a value trap for a while unless get bought for their technology but that is not happening and others are now in the space…see you at the AGM for a ‘please explain’ why you are still all running the company - should be private…

Jeez, this is still at a 48m M.cap even at a share price in single pennies, that's what happens when unabated share dilution occurs.

This survives on external funding and fund raising, they'll end up controlling nothing as they'll hand over more of the business just to survive.

That RNS is not an encouraging read.
