Bapodra..
I am neither a soothsayer nor historically overly-optimistic as an investor. In fact I come from a position of ‘skepticism is good’ which stood me in good stead in my previous lives (not literally! Job-wise)

But , if you look at share charts of these fledgling AIM investment companies - including Vela - you will see the charts dripping with misery from the blood-letting of those who “believed̶1; long term.

Most of these companies have their day in the sun, and then personnel, sentiment, or market forces change direction and the wind carries away hope (and money!).
With most of these companies profits need to be taken at judicious points along the way (IMO).

As for your statement on feldgeling companies and growth time - Yes, I agree in part - but more fail then succeed over a period, so , again, longevity is not always guaranteed.

And I’ll go one further by observing that the Tech shares we / Pires/ et al are investing in, very rapidly gain traction an=d see exponential growth (and I’m figuring many will also see rapid movement in the opposite direction too).

So I foresee a POSSIBLE set of events with Vela where the Covid trial is positive , which takes us to £20M Market Cap pretty quickly, this then allows a larger fundraiser of , say £2-3Million, which increases Vela’s investment power greatly.
If the company continues to make shrewd investments (on a larger scale) in firms like KNB etc and other investments like MODE take off, this could well become a virtuous circle quite quickly like AAA did (maybe not on that scale)

YOu also have to remember that some of these Tech companies are trading on ridiculously high forward projections - some like Dev Clever, valued at hundreds of times income streams (with little or no profit)

So , big money is there to be made rapidly - sometimes purely on Sector and sentiment - and I’d argue against that money staying at such high forward ratios forever. So I think Vela could easily triple , quadruple or more MC in a few months time.

All in my opinion and no guarantees

I think many old investors in Vela are not realising how different the company is now with a more 'Balanced Footing' and Penny is correct that those 'Rapid Value Increasing' events are never far away for such type of shares albeit many of our interests are yet to gain any serious traction...

Hi Bapodra and everyone..
I think you're being pessimistic here and underestimating the potential for rapid valuation inflections (as with PIRI imo)

These type of shares actually are not ones to 'hold' "for years and years" imo, as rapid value-increasing events are never far away - and, conversely, change in sentiment also comes quite rapidly in Markets, which sees a reverse of fortunes if the nettle isn't grasped.

So here, as with PIRI, events are likely to come upon us very quickly and in succession - with a compounding of value occurring rapidly.
The Tech sector is 'hot' and I can foresee steep increases with a fair wind.

The massive value adding potential here in the short term is undoubtedly the Covid trial, which i think will see a massive uplift in share price if positive - and then with a sale or partnership, huge value unlocked.

And the "long and painful" path you allude to may not be so painful if value-adding fundraisers compliment investments (like MODE and KNB - and Aeristech IPO) doing well. The recent Wireless investment looks solid to me but more slow-burn.

But, as with PIRES, I still feel you underestimate greatly how fast value can escalate with this type of share.

Cheers, PF

There was circa 125m shares traded today which is quite high for Vela. On balance from the prices it looks like buys outweighed sells but of course that can't be true as the price was down.

As you say Bap until more shares are bought, and thus fewer in circulation then with obvious sellers around, the price will struggle to increase unless a huge spike of buyers pile in, which of course could happen leading up to the news flow.

Another side could be still shares from placings/warrants being sold down which could also be correct given the higher number of shares traded recently than normally seen.

Undoubtedly Vela is in a far stronger position now with its interests but as you state shares in circulation are definitely an issue for sustainability in share price and concerted delays to final outcomes to the trial are not helping matters either which are still many weeks away...

I do believe Vela will drift back into the 7s again and remain there until further progress/interests...Be patient investors, better opportunities will arrive here in the near future to consider investing...

Well that is a little premature buddy because if you read my past commentary, you may be somewhat surprised!

...So they've committed to thorough due-diligence hey, funny that because I can't gauge there to be much market interest following that 'Promising' RNS, can you?

...But I'll tell you why, because MTI is 'Valued' for future expectations now and i doubt its been great timing by JN to become involved, seems rushed if anything!

...By the way, I see you have a delightful friend in the 'Pasty Curry' who enjoys your rather disconcerting commentary...Great minds think alike right!

I trust Vela to have researched them to a level a private investor never could. If you were invested you'd have faith in Vela, instead it seems your here to troll , you can't be short because that would just be silly.

Its good to have a look at MTI and its fundamentals before opening ones mouth with just 'Noise' hey!

...And let's not get sentimental with Vela because it may just cloud your judgement to be objective to its interests, buddy!

Interesting companies arising from Israel but unfortunately the 'Bird has already flown' here - not the most 'Savvy' of decisions by JN...

Interesting point DB, the incompetent Laiker did leave Vela in a rather unfortunate position which JN is best accommodating with a more balanced portfolio now or getting rid of the 'Chaff' so to speak!...For many investors, he is the 'Star Attraction' here, everything else is a bonus!

...However, chart is definitely not primed yet, still a few weeks away for any serious price momentum...
