Wouldn't surprise me at all Atlantic. Suffice to say GKP will be my last AIM investment - if they do indeed get taken over, as everyone expects, I will never again being investing in AIM.

Just too many dogs frankly.

Andy ,

I am not going name names because it is unproven but i have heard some of these worthy Captains have been running their homes through these resource Companies so as shareholders cough up , the money just goes to support a luxuary lifestyle.

The big difference now is that people are not going to buy based on endless promises. If one of these Companies delivers then it a different story.

This generation of investors will be no doubt be replaced by another gullible group when the cycle returns.

Cheers

atlantic57,

I totally agree, investors have been cleaned out on many AIM penny dreadfuls, and won't be coming back.

It's hard to see how the AIM market can recover from this in the short term, maybe after a few years the cycle will begin again, but i don't see it anytime soon.

Private investors have had the balls crunched on this and many other aim resource stocks.I don't see them rushing back !

Yes Paxton and his ilk have been very successful over the last few years with their marketing techniques. but it is now game over....

Even so you wouldnt plough any money into a company thats going under shortly and thats what the market has assumed VGM will do.

------------------
Actually its a very common ploy.
Barry Cahill bought two lots at NGL just before the bad news surfaced.

A few grand is meaningless to these guys - especially if it helps to keep their gravy train running a while longer.

There is no mention of David Lenigas on the VGM website that I can find.
He is not listed as a Director there.
I think you will find that he disappeared off the Vatakoula board a year or soi ago.

P@ did you take your own advice 4 years ago ?

p@ 18 Jan'09 - 09:18 - 2 of 503

"The mine which has been operating for over 75 years, Mr Gordon said has all but exhausted the gold ore resources that could be profitably mined."

Simon When the old owner says this you really have to keep an open mind.

Mutual admiration society agree with you!

Having been crushed with ngl ascot and now vgm i am extremely wary of believing Directors predictions especially when month after month in the case of all the Companies i have just mentioned have shown truly appalling actual results delivered.

atlantic agree with everything you said aswell.

I did think NGL would recover having spoke to some contacts WHO seemed to believe it was a no-brainer. I suppose we live and try to learn.

VGM again seems a no-brainer with the potential to realise big gains from 10p but should be digested with caution. The recent director dealings from my view however can only be taken as a marginally positive constituent.

John i agree with those comments , however i think i have seen you post on ngl bb.

I think they will get the money , but vgm has a norsman feel to it!

on the other vgm thread a guy has posted an rns from 2008 promising 110 000 ounces per annum in 2009.

So yes if they delivered huge potential . unfortunately no one believes the story anymore!!

Even so you wouldnt plough any money into a company thats going under shortly and thats what the market has assumed VGM will do. So the recent director buying and more importantly the 30m at 15p has added up to some positives coming out at last and the price is so low now that it has the potential to rapidly increase on any hint of a turnaround.

He must have brought them from adit? If so the rns is misleading as it clearly says in addition to, giving the impression that 240k of shares have been brought by dp and adit. Who knows but the reality is that 40k is hardly much of a financial commitment

The rns says that in addition to dp 40k buy, adit brought 200k shares and yet only holds 160k. How can that be? Are we double accounting here?

Didn't realise Paxton had such a LITTLE STAKE in the company he's run,in my opinion, so incompetently over the last 3 years....

DP buys 40,800 shares!
Adit Investment, a company owned by David Paxton, has purchased 200,000 shares

Clearly doesnt have much faith in his own abilities!

John craven i think the answer is no!

I suspect on the balance of probability ie above 50% we will get Chinese funding.
This i think will give the share price a short term boost.

The problem though is we are getting the usual drivel from Vgm Management 'that we are months away from producing 100 000 ounces.

We have been months away for the last 3 years and no one any longer believes Management.

The only thing that will change that is actually producing more ounces !

unfortunately we are 'permanently'months away...
