All we need is the new Nomad and it will all fall into place. Yes, certainly some big money to be made, if it goes to the lower 20s buyers will pile in imo.

Hi Temmujin! Actually, my presence here started as idle curiosity, but now I'm deadly serious. There's big money to be made here.

On the off chance, and in the spirit of capitalism at its most ruthless, does anybody know the names of any creditors of Vast Resources and the dates when the contracted debts concerned fall due? Especially, if said creditor(s) might be persuaded into selling on the debt(s) concerned? There could be an interesting play here.

Interesting re the coke machines, though I just googled n it was abandoned in 2014 as people thought they were being taken advantage of, which it is. There will be no tripling of prices IMHO, but I do conceed there also won't be any discounting

ihavenoclue - Normally, changes of Nomad are done quickly and discreetly, with a single RNS informing shareholders that one Nomad has gone, and a new one has been appointed. A Nomad resigning like this is a significant event in the life of a company. Remember, Nomads have a legal duty to ensure that the company is a viable going concern, and that it is telling the truth to its shareholders.

And astjgaoom, in California they have Coke vending machines that change their prices according to the temperature. If it's hot, they charge double. That's just how markets work. And of course the BoD of Vast must be desperate by now - the end is nigh; precisely it's 31/1.

Not sure VAST must be 'absolutely desperate by now' ?

If you read the RNS the resignation of the nomad was not a surprise to them.

Hi Ginko3! Thanks for the Jubilee Platinum tip; I've just read the annual report and at first sight it looks like a good company exploiting an interesting resource. You're right, too, that it provides a better direct comparison with Vast than Sylvania Platinum, which is further along in its development (i.e. it's making money). Will think seriously about this company.

As for Vast, sorry to all that I'm such a pessimist. Time will tell who is right and who is wrong here. But certainly, if I were a Nomad in negotiations with them, I'd be doubling and tripling any fee I was charging; Vast must be absolutely desperate by now.

For a good balance of development stage vs risk perhaps Jubilee Platinum would be better than either Vast or Sylvania Platinum - also a tailings play but awaiting a mining licence for the largest undeveloped block of platinum in the world - its the last factor that provides the attractiveness of the possibility of an explosive increase in the underlying value of the company.

If you've got the patience for it, compare Vast to Sylvania Platinum, which is also a brownfield tailings play. You'll see Vast is not actually that cheap a stock! And Sylvania Platinum are a far more advanced company than Vast.
BTW, in my analysis of Vast I'm ignoring the Zimbabwe reserves. They clearly can't get any money of the country (see last report), and they admit to the threat of "indiginisation" (i.e. getting seized by Mugabe). I assume that the best that can be said of their operation in Zimbabwe is that they lose nothing by keeping it going, and maybe someday, perhaps, gain something.
If you want a good gold miner, and I can see why anybody would these days, try CEY, HUM, or even RRS.

I'm not sure about that, because the announcement of the new licenses as well as the potential of larger new investors coming on board will make Vast - I think - quite a different proposition. There is now the potential of getting some serious things out of the ground, they could well hold 4m oz of gold too if I have done my maths correctly. I think the current price does reflect the absence of a Nomad, yet when the announcement of a Nomad appointment would come it will probably not so easy to buy anything in size.

FWIW, I'd do the opposite - get out now, and then buy back in (if you like) when they get a Nomad. I can't believe a simple RNS announcing the appointment of a Nomad will send a share upwards very far! My guess is that the RNS (f it comes) will by met with a shrug of indifference.
No Nomad, of course, will cause panic and pandemonium.
