FCA won't be investing UPL, as UPL did precisely what they are required to do when they are advised of a potential bid, they notified the market and invoked Rule 26a to force the bidder to put up or shut up.

If the FCA investigate anything, it will be those telling UPL they are interested in buying the company for 14p per share and claiming that they were associated with Mr Bollinger when they are not, which is false representation.

None of the insiders or cornerstone investors have sold a single share. In fact we know they wouldn't sell at 14p, for reasons soon to become obvious. Shame the reality doesn't fit into the distorted reality here.

Also funded for drilling campaign, and into mid next year, what does that tell you? When you don't read between the lines you get into trouble opening massive shorts at 1.6p, then everyone has to suffer this endless distortion as you desperately claw back at your losses. It's clear there's too much money at stake for you all to behave yourselves this weekend, so continue trying to scare holders into selling to you on Monday morning. Are you sure 20 guys are enough? Have you tried every angle yet? Is it five guys with four different logins, or 20 individuals? If it's only five guys, how come log lorry has to always say the most stupid stuff? So many questions!

So many possible scenarios. BOD resignations? Results "delay"? Suspension at the company's request?

Nobody knows.

Even before this latest, the ludicrous amount of PR made this a share to enjoy watching from the side lines. But that was it.

The share price went up from 3p (close Friday 20th) to a peak of 8p on the Monday after the original RNS about the fake takeover was announced. It would seem reasonable to expect the price to drop to at least 3p.

But on top of that you now have a board of directors revealed as incompetent and untrustworthy - they couldn't be bothered to do the most basic of due diligence before publishing the fake takeover RNS. With that on top I'd expect it to open at 2p on Monday.

Also, they're due to publish some results on Tuesday, which will confirm that they're low on cash and have negligible assets.

So 1p on Tuesday?

And the bed wetters calling for it to be suspended will just have to grow a pair - it's not going to be suspended.

Borrowed post but so true MM will play games but this is not material news that would cause the price to tank and stay down permanently. A low ball placing, a dry well, warnings about late accounts, being sued, a decision to delist, warnings about financial status, these are matters that cause a price to tank.The withdrawal of an offer is not one of them unless the price reflected the offer price. The price never reflected the offer price of 14p in the first place. It closed at 4.5p when it was 3p before the offer news.The news was released on Friday evening so investors will have the whole weekend to sleep on it. I believe this will have less of an impact then if the news was released 07:00 Monday, but we shall see.You are quite right about faith in the management. The pressure is on for them to repair the damage caused to their reputation.

No need for suspension but I expect the company and its broker Optivia who are already in trouble with the FCA will be under intense scrutiny.

I doubt they will be allowed to raise any more money and once insiders have finished dumping the company will just whither away.

As per my previous comments why only one week when they had a full month. Even more important why name someone who is real and alive. The danger is that this person can come forward and deny they have made any such approach.

The fake RNS could have caused serious financial damage to William Bollinger if he were involved in business ventures elsewhere. What if he were trying to secure a bank loan and the bank read he was about to spend £167 million on an oil/gas venture.

Had UPL used a fake name like the fake RNS they could have stretched this out until 23/11/2023 and claimed no formal offer has been received.

Even JakNife has now backed down from the allegation that the BOD were deliberately involved and blames them for incompetence and negligence.

PWhite the BoD have been shown to be liars (by ommision or otherwise).

It would have taken hours to confirm if William G of Egerton was behind the bid and if it was credible. They allowed, and possibly created, a false market for a week.

When the price drops tomorrow fill yer boots. Plenty of less gullible people will be happy to sell to you. You have said yourself you have been burned many times before by trusting fake bids and other well crafted company statements designed to mislead. I'm afraid your wealth will be transferred to others because the stock market is no place for the naive.

I hope people can see now that Jak, myself and others have called this out exactly for what it is and can salvage some of their investment before it's too late. You should just accept you got it wrong and stop trying to reassure.

Despite the above another placing can still occur.

The price had been rising from 0.4p in July to 3p just before the offer news. There is plenty of interest in the stock unrelated to any offers.

They and their JV partner Big Oil Venture of Malaysia are sourcing drills. Recent estimates in neighbouring blocks suggest large hydrocarbons.

RNS 28/07/2023 - "Preliminary estimates suggest significant hydrocarbon resources in Block SK334, comparable to neighbouring billion-barrel Seria field and Europe's largest offshore Oil & Gas reservoirs."

RNS 18/08/2023 - "Upland Resources Limited (LSE: UPL) is pleased to announce that, through its collaborative discussions with the Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam, the Company has recently been advised that gas was discovered in two previously unknown reservoirs in the neighbouring block in Brunei, which is located close to, and has a similar geological context to prospective areas in Block SK334."
