In Dec 2016's Placing last year the BoD's bought £842,000 placing shares

" of the Directors participated in the Placing and subscribed for an aggregate of 64,769,230 Placing Shares for aggregate £842,000 in cash (at the placing price of 1.3p per share"

They have until Sept 17 to walk away from Wressle if they don't get the planning etc...saves them £1.3m....but they may get approval & buy into the license

bigger fish ia overseas....lets hope with their contact base they get a underpriced asset

Lat broker NPV value on the UK assets was around 3p...so small fry there....it's the overseas asset potential that will / may add real value

Zengas, agree with your observations. The prize is bigger than the UK acreage.

The wife appears keen as mustard on these....

As I said a few days back I do not believe the directors are here for the style of the UK assets particularly Bolhassan whose wife is actively buying, as well as the Chairman who holds 63m shares and whoever Aimi Aizal Bin Nasharuddin is with 22.5m shares. I believe the CEO ex Cove Energy also knows it's a bigger asset that will be transformational.

The Chairman and Bolhassan are from the Malaysia region and there is a regional gas energy shortage there. I bought into another company who just recently announced that they are taking a 20% interest in a 433 Bcf 2C 3 well gas discovery for $4m but which was never flow tested and having a 4 tcf + 120 mmbls upside and drill ready for the 4th well. They describe it as having company making potential. Seems there are various overlooked gas interests from the 60s-90s in the region - plus near to existing infrastructure. It shows the type of asset deals available.

Now if UPL were to pick up something like that or even bigger....?

Either way the huge director holdings and Bolhassans wife still buying is a vote of confidence imo that they could be chasing something material.

From last month 22nd March -

"Upland continued to study a number of opportunities in the Far East, Morocco and elsewhere with a view to farm-in, or acquisition of the rights to the acreage from the relevant government. At the time of this Report, a number of opportunities are under active assessment."

Your Board believes that Upland has a bright future ahead of it and is well placed to take advantage of opportunities.

looks like the management are gobbling shares away. This is so tightly held by management that it bodes well. The CEO, Chairman, the NEDs and their spouses account for a huge amount of stock.

Allied to that the CEO has experience of making companies.

Following this morning's RNS about further Director shareholding; is there a timescale when the company cannot make any significant price impacting news if a Director has recently bought some shares?
