Every time I turn on the News, someone is banging on about Brexit, now Blair decides to have a go. No we are not idiots, don't need him and his cronies, lets just get on with making the most of it, without having to put up with interference from him and his trolls and we will decide our own destiny again.

Just another example of post Brexit rape and pillage being conducted by Overseas institutions on the back of a favourable exchange rates. This is going the same way as ARM and there could be more to follow.

No thank you. Where is the Monopolies Commission these days? They were not honourable with the bid for Cadbury's and we have lost too many UK companies over the previous years. We end up with less competition and brand names that have been around for long times and closed and disappear and we end up with sub-standard goods and built in obsolescence.

Opportunistic and unacceptable.

"The proposal received was that Unilever common shareholders would receive $50.00 per share in a mix of $30.23 per share in cash payable in U.S. dollars and 0.222 new enlarged entity shares per existing Unilever share, which valued Unilever at a total equity value of approximately $143 billion.

As at the close of business on 16 February 2017, a mix of $30.23 in cash payable in U.S. dollars and 0.222 Kraft Heinz shares per existing Unilever share would value each Unilever common share at $49.61, representing a premium of 18% to Unilever's share price."

Warren Buffet is definitely involved. My gut instinct is that he is too shrewd an operator to be put off by the first rejection.

There are some pretty wild numbers being reported on the news at the moment......one saying that the offer was nearly £115 bn which cannot be right. if memory serves me correctly there are about 1.3billion shares in issue giving a current market cap of around £48 billion.

Rumours built yesterday with news that someone had bought 10,000 short dated calls of the Unilever ADRs that expire next month with strike prices of between $40-45

Rumour today is that Kraft will bid £40 with private equity backing from 3G and Warren Buffet.

Kraft confirms that it has made a comprehensive proposal to Unilever about combining the two groups to create a leading consumer goods company with a mission of long-term growth and sustainable living. While Unilever has declined the proposal, we look forward to working to reach agreement on the terms of a transaction. There can be no certainty that any further formal proposal will be made to the Board of Unilever or that an offer will be made at all or as to the terms of any transaction.

Taken profits at 3555 - 6.3% rise good enough for me.

My third largest holding at present with a 7.7% weighting. Don't care to be taken over (particularly by Kraft a la Cadbury) at all.

What 12% premium? Think it would need to be closer to 45.
