I fear anyone buying ALBA or ANGS this morning will disappear just as quickly as they arrived. I would argue the investment case is worse than it was yesterday, so I imagine anyone buying will be short-termers.

Limited knock on for UKOG given their low share of Brockham, but the other issues regarding cash etc still apply here.

Alba have now climbed up to parity--Angs still down but only marginal-so no big deal. we are currently in a doldrums period until things start to kick off. i am not worried by todays/ yesterdays events, this is still a big chance to earn some real money IMO

Actually, the BBC ran a critical piece on the infamous "100bn barrels" claim with footage of someone at UKOG (I believe SS but could be wrong) making the claim.

Who knows what has happened here. It does seem odd that the SCC appear out of touch with what Angus and others have said publicly. It does nothing for sentiment or reputation which is why ALBA and ANGS are being crushed this morning.

Much talk on ALBA and Angs about the BBC report. Storm in a teacup, maybe a bit of trust lost but surely the SCC must have seen the RNS issued by ANGS on 3 March?? Would ANGS have been silly enough to have contravened Planning when so much at stake, do not believe all your read and hear. We will wait for a statement after the air has been cleared from the meeting between the two parties. Obviously it gives an opportunity of dropping the share price but hey ho, we are in for the long haul are we not?? Not such for the few quid profit here and there, but for big bucks when the oil starts to flow!! Too Too much made of this IMO and BBC love a bad story, do not recall them making a huge story when the vast oil reserves were discovered!! Yes it was covered but in rather a sceptical way!!!

Looks like Angus have run into some trouble at Brockham. That'll presumably mean delays there. This won't be good for Alba and to a lesser extent UKOG either.

Angus Energy's Brockham well could 'change the face of the onshore industry'
03 Mar 2017

Optiva Securities analyst Barney Gray gives his take on the significance of latest drill results at Brockham.

In a statement, Angus said they're very similar and in some respects superior to those of the so-called Gatwick Gusher.

Brockham drill results 'outstanding and extraordinary' says David Lenigas
15:32 03 Mar 2017

David Lenigas, oil and gas commentator and executive chairman of Doriemus Energy plc (LON:DOR) talks over the positive update from Angus today on its Brockham re-entry oil well in Surrey.
The former chairman of UKOG said: "When the Horse Hill flowed at a record flow rate for an onshore well in the UK, it shut quite a few people up," he said, adding it wasn't perhaps the 'Dorking Dribler' but in fact the 'Gatwick gusher'.

Exciting stuff.....full market appreciation will arrive a lot sooner than the detractors and doubters think imho.....and a sudden and significant re-rate will catch them all out. Gla holder Our time will come!!! ;-)))

Lol funkymonkey, with the prospect of so much recoverable oil, then you have undoubted transformational potential......good results from Brockham will focus market and investor interest on HH's planned extended flow tests and Holmwood etc. Gla holders....a very exciting 2017 for all Weald Players. ;-)

we shall see. In any event, it's a fair way off. and the share price has a long way to move before that becomes a remote possibility

I disagree. You can't advance this kind of operation on £2m, in my opinion. Not with all of the EWTs and the associated costs.

I think I originally said they'd need cash by December 2016. I'll admit I was a bit hasty, but I still can't see how UKOG can go until the end of 2017 at the very latest without requiring another fund raise.

They have $9m available from the previous facility, which expires in October. I would wager they'd be leaning on this very strongly. I don't think they could afford repayments from free cash, which means they'd have to issue shares.

I'm not resistant to an investment case here, but I don't see it yet. The balance sheet is still too thin IMO.

fp12 - they are not the only player at HH. Their share presumably in line with their 31.2% interest. Plus they achieved quite a bit this last year with spending just over £2m on operational activities (£2.04m to be precise!).

A placing is a baseless supposition. People have been throwing that out for a long time: The 'wet dreams' thread suggested it almost exactly a year ago now!

If further cash is required, it is a long way off. They still have a borrowing facility, and there are other ways to raise cash or proceed to production than with a placing(joint ventures, farm out, etc). Nor would they proceed until such point as there was a good story to tell. I would not expect to see that until mid to late 2018.

It has to be said also that as they proceed towards full time production on HH, they become an increasingly attractive proposition to a larger company. Got to be significantly cheaper and easier to produce here than in the North Sea!

Forwood, you think £2.4m is enough to go to production?! From where they are now?

Net cash is 18.5% over £2m, hardly 'just' over!

'just' enough to take them through to production!

Although I suppose you could add back receivables, though most of that is loans.

OK, I'll take your point, net cash of just over £2m.

Either way, it's hardly enough!

FmP12 has been a consistent bear on these and can't get his facts right, let alone a clear view of the company's prospects. The net cash position is £2.37m

Cor you are doom and gloomers, you have no idea how long it takes to get a massive operation like this up and running ---so many loops to jump through. Would you not rather it take a little longer and get things RIGHT than rush things through?? This will come good in the end. Remember Rome was not built in a Day--and look what it was like when they finished. Be a glass half FULL man than half Empty!!
