I'm happy with my purchase at 8p. I'm happy to hold for as long as it takes as I don't need the funds. An oil shortage in a few years could lift tullow back to 500p +? It does sound crazy and maybe I should be getting fitted for straight jacket for that comment, but could it not happen?

It all depends how long one's time frame is,
Could we expect an oil recovery in 6-12 months?

I'm sure whites is not referring to you when using the term troll. You have mentioned some valid points. With funding being pulled for exploration across the oil sector for obvious reasons, do you think we could see supply problems in the future (crazy to think in the current climate with the massive surplus)? I also believe life will return to relative normality after covid so I believe the demand for oil around the world will return. Is it not the time to buy oil companies as a medium to long term play? I'd rather buy them cheap now than expensive in a few years time.

I guess by trolls whites means anyone that disagrees with him? You don’t have to be a ‘Greta junkie’ to see that oil is going nowhere in the short term. We are at the very beginning of the crisis and even before it started sovereign wealth funds were selling down their holdings in oil companies. While TLW may have hedged quite well, its debt exposure is enormous like many other companies even majors such as RDSB. £2+ looks a very very long way off to me

Wti shouldn't affect tullow too much. Brent is down 8% so I expect a open of 16p then back up over 17p very quickly.

Brent is crucial for tullow. Wti more for America

Retail investor got slaughtered with supposedly safe futures backed ETFs. They've lost a fortune on the roll over date as near term contracts has to be sold and the next month contract bought, a whopping 60% in a day and oil hardly moved. This applies to all futures backed ETFs. Also if you hold them for a long term the value converges to mathematical ZERO. Only good for a very short term trading in normal market conditions. IMO, DYOR.

TLW - a good choice of CEO.

Whites, I hope you learnt a very valuable lesson by never telling anyone your position or size, it can always be used against you.

Sorry Sbb1x, there will be no takeover offer in the 40 - 70p range.
Directors plan to get this back above £2 and more. I would revise any take over offer to be in the £1.50 to £2.00 range.
We are in exceptional times and if people believe this is warranted then they really are mistaken.
Expecting so see asset sale of $1 Billion relatively soon after June.
Expecting to see Uganda Tax resolved pretty soon after June.
Whether we see any Director purchases is dependent upon how far into negotiations and deal making they are.

Tullow Update:

As outlined at Tullow's Full Year Results, the impact of reduced oil prices is mitigated by the Group's robust hedging strategy. Tullow has 60% of its 2020 sales revenue hedged with a floor of c.$57/bbl and 40% of 2021 sales revenue hedged with a floor of c.$53/bbl. Tullow's realised oil price in January and February 2020 was c.$62/bbl and following the recent price drop, hedging receipts of c.$30 million are forecast for March 2020.
