This is the farmdown that Tullow alluded to in their Portfolio Management activities statement. It strongly suggests this will happen now, which once it happens will remove any material uncertainly about Tullow's future by bringing gearing and covenants in line with the new low oil price era. This will very likely be overlooked by many, but this excellent news.

Besides the point. The point is did human beings survive and life moved on?

So c19 ....will humans survive it and life as we know it, will it move on eventually???? If not then we are all doomed collectively and whether any one makes a buck or loses it all, makes no difference at all.

I strongly believe that we will survive and yrs to come we will look back and think that there were bargains smack bang right in front of our faces.

Spanish flu- a 2007 analysis of medical journals from the period of the pandemic found that the viral infection was no more aggressive than previous influenza strains. Instead, malnourishment, overcrowded medical camps and hospitals, and poor hygiene promoted bacterial superinfection. This superinfection killed most of the victims. Quite different to covid-19.

How long did Spanish flu last?

How did economies do for their time during the Spanish flu.

We've had the plague, world wars and countless other viruses. Human being survived and life moved on.

Exactly the same will happen eventually.......

To my knowledge China has already entered into 2nd phrase of coronavirus. Their own countryman returning to china from places like Italy, spain, UK , Holland, Germany etc etc.. I been told for China goverment is trying to stop people infected returning to china but introducing a new law that anyone returning must pay for coronavirus checks and and self quarantine expenses which could cost up to £15-20,000. Add on top air ticket to china cost around £20,000 per person.

I get your point about state run China. If you're told to stay indoors you will. We might not be state run but there's a lot of fear out there. I'm already aware of a lot of people in my community self isolating out of choice - before being instructed to.

Talking a lot of sense spacedust. Absolutely terrible what the virus is doing to the population around the world and I really feel for people who have already been directly connected to it so far. But my objective view is that we will recover, and the financial markets will recover. Like you, I have a taken some tullow and pmo - can't resist these silly prices. I've also been buying Shell (with divi set in stone). I'm also buying some funds regularly as we move through the pandemic and hopefully come out the other side.

We're on the verge of a global recession. Yesterday saw the pound at its lowest value against the dollar for 35 year's.The 350 billion for this country is a fraction of what's needed to keep business afloat. China had very strict measures to contain the virus and they abided by them. Can't see the idiots in this country doing the same.
