No some of the names ring a bell, but don't remember the details. Was just thinking that once you've made a bad call, tried to average down (another call that will be good or bad), averaged down again (again could be good or bad), it's best to believe that you can't see the future. Once you're comfortable with that it should be easy to drop half if the market is kind to you.

Thanks. Fell in love with too many harlots to fall for it again. Recall Bula and all the oil was available via tariq aziz and never mind the gargarash office block in Tripoli to house hundreds of workers?

Badger, when it gets to b/e for you if it does, then sell half. Then you'll have cash available to buy more should it fall and you'll benefit anyway if it rises. Or maybe there's a better stock to trade. Don't get obsessed about 1 stock

How long until we start to see more news headlines about progress on fusion. The answer to everything, everlasting power generation.

Lesson learnt many moons ago. Always keep cash in reserve to buy good company stock when it is the victim of a major shake. I own 3 times my original.

Yes I agree. It's all the XR/Thunberg related nonsense but the reality is 85% of global energy is from fossil fuels.

Oil is beginning to look pretty hated at the minute but the reality is that there's nothing to replace it. Some oilies are near ten-year lows, and we're talking Exxon here, not just smaller players.

They were clearly overvalued relative to their peers, so didnt touch till now, but now I think they are good value (pe of ~4?!) and in line with the other UK midcaps. A small tranche, less than 1% of liquid net worth, because I don't know they won't go bust. But their fields should be good for 70kbpd/150m fcf.

What I don't understand is guys on message boards who had 20-50% of their net worth in a single stock! Guys lost 150kon Monday - absolutely insane. Hell, I learned it the hard way early in my investing career!

There was also a lesson in liquidity on Monday, it was a buyers market. I got an order filled below quoted prices, I'd say institutional investors had to dump at any price. I do NOT want to ever be on the illiquid sell side ...

Master, Whites is not looking into charting, he knows everything he needs to know. Being in profit doesn't appear to be something built into the investing/trading plan he works to. I doubt there is a plan to be fair. By the time he gets to b/e (if that happens), I'm pretty sure the profits from this one will be making profits in another one for me. He's probably not heard of 'opportunity cost'.

As Omar so wisely says, 'he who knows not and knows not that he knows not is a fool, shun him'.
