Shorts are in trouble if central banks will push rates negative then they are showing they will do everything to support the markets?

Russia and most OPEC countries, with maybe the exception of SAUDI, can't operate their countries with Oil under $60, they will start to have systematic failure....

They can't win the US Shale fight....the balance of power has changed, OPEC no longer control the industry......only to the downside.

Done the same mate, if I had have bought and held my original investment, I would have made a lot more, like you I am holding now, instead of trying to trade this.

I think Iran will be the sticking point. Unless Russia can exert some influence. The gulf states will follow SA, Iraq will accept as their budget shortfall is massive. Iran will argue it needs to regain its original market share, but there can be no deal if they won't deviate on their plan to increase by 0.5-1m bopd.

True, the key driver in the recent increases is this OPEC/ Russia production cut, if it doesn't happen there will be downside pressure. But the market doesn't lie, the consistent rise in oil even with bad data or falling indices some data shows there's more than just rumours happening.

I'm so glad I held and didn't try trading. Need this to get to £1.94 for me to break even on losses made on PMO and others. Was down £13k at one point now under £6. I was thinking would get to £2 within a year but looks a lot sooner now.
Do you think I did the right thing NY BOY or should I have gone short when they were at £1.20

NY Boy seemed to do ok on the way down and I guess you're right Spirito, should have doubled and not dithered listening to noise. Anyway, still expect 3 or 4 bags from here.

NY boy is just one of many fantasy traders on advfn - mostly harmless - as said, if he never did trade he'd be skint inside a week with his 100% wrong call record ;)

Your strategy was shorting rises last week, it seems to change in hindsight after each day.Why not put up a few live trades, and people can see if your as successful as you think you are.Your predictions on PoO and TLW would certainly have lost big money in the last week.

I always sleep well. I am neither short of long here, been trading indices buying dips.

As I said before 150p support area needs to hold for a week or two to be taken seriously about going higher, also crude has only risen on our speculation of cuts, nothing more, you would want confirmation that had been agreed before going long, nothing much has changed as of yet.

Gary Ross, a veteran OPEC watcher and founder of U.S.-based Pira group.
Brenda Kelly, head analyst at London Capital Group, said the proposed cuts were unlikely to happen.
"There have been attempts in the past that have come to (nothing). Saying something about the oil price and doing something are very different things, and it seems like panic given the price drop," she said.
A global deal could also be complicated by the position of
OPEC member Iran. It wants to raise output after the lifting of
Western sanctions which had curtailed production for years.
