08/6/2016 10:38 | The negative side is that they must successfully cap the chinese restructuring costs, Aleman. apad | apad
08/6/2016 10:27 | ANd just for goo dmeasure, oil is lookig perky. It's just broken $52 for another 7-month high. | aleman
08/6/2016 06:48 | Good results under the circumstances. The Group has ridden through a recession in its energy markets and tough times elsewhere. It has adjusted quickly as it did in the 2008/9 recession, and it will soon be generating profits again, and with a strong bounce-back likely when its markets recover. Those markets are already showing some signs of stabilising as the oil price slowly recovers, and they would do so anyway in time, as the components sold into energy and transport markets deteriorate if not used in an industrial environment and need replacing. I think we will see the beginnings of a good recovery here in H2 (which should show in the outlook statement at the end of H1) and shares will turn out to be a bargain at 10p. | aleman
24/5/2016 06:57 | Caterpillar sales still falling but possibly look set to stabilise later this year. Industrial moving equipment deteriorates whether you use it or not. This severe equipment recession will end soon. | aleman
04/5/2016 14:45 | Great deal over at AVG. Pity TCN management can't conjure up something to increase shareholder value. | meijiman
14/4/2016 21:47 | What a mess idiot traders when numbers released expect dramatic fall. | charo
14/4/2016 15:55 | Having had many a down day I will enjoy days like this. Glad I bought more at the start of the year. | wowy
14/4/2016 15:30 | I frequent another thread where a few steadier buy and hold investors chat about investments and all sorts of random life musings. A couple of them seem to have bought a few after I mentioned them but I doubt that accounts for the majority. | aleman
14/4/2016 13:32 | Similarly puzzled, A. Looks to be lots of 'O' buys. Can only speculate on a tip in a magazine. apad | apad
14/4/2016 13:18 | Okay - what is going on? Two days after a modest update and they take off. The update wasn't great although "in-line" on lowered turnover might not have been as bad as some expected. The quick rationalisation of costs in China bodes well for any future upturn, even if only modest. Can you get a short squeeze on a company this small? I didn't think you could borrow stock on such small companies to short them. It's the second biggest riser on the market today but the biggest riser had good news! | aleman
13/4/2016 10:17 | Excavator market in China has hit bottom, according to the Caterpillar analyst at MacQuarie. Miners might have lower prices to deal with, but they can only put off buying equipment so long. Actual mining volumes aren't much changed and are even increasing still for some commodities. Equipment and engineering shares will recover. Their recession should be starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. At less than half book value of its strong balance sheet, even without intangibles, and with positive operating cashflows at the low point, TCN should recover strongly over the next few years even if commodity prices don't improve much. | aleman
13/4/2016 10:10 | I think the reversal yesterday may have been the bottom. THe MMs got caught out when they marked it down and significant buying started. | aleman
12/4/2016 13:55 | This AIM goes from bad to worse. Following a change in MD in 2007 there was a new FD in 2009 and Sales Director in 2011 - Nothing has stopped the reckless decline and misjudged acquisitions. With a change of Chairman in 2014 the hope was for a recognition of poor management and the appointment of a team that could deliver real change to rekindle the companies prospects. The current team even drastically reduced the previously agreed stock options price for the Sales Director - What an admission of failure together with no ambition for recovery! Until we see a significant change in the leadership figures I feel any meaningful recovery in the fortunes of this stock is a long way off, the beast we can hope for in the medium term would appear to be a bid from a suiter or VC, and maybe with such a poor outlook the long term major shareholder will agree to sell. | aceofdiamonds
12/4/2016 10:42 | Read Stockdale's note on Tricorn Group (TCN), out this morning, by visiting www.research-tree.co “We are encouraged that Tricorn expects adj. EBIT for FY2016E to be in line with our breakeven forecast, despite group revenue being £1m lower at £18.0m vs our £19.0m. We have reduced our adj. PBT forecasts for FY2017E and FY2018E on the back of reduced sales forecasts but we are encouraged that Tricorn is winning business and that it has other cost-saving initiatives to improve profitability. We believe that Tricorn is capable of delivering a substantial uplift in profits in due course and keep our…” | thomasthetank1
01/4/2016 21:00 | Yes but it provides a nice easy job with a decent salary etc. why not spin it along as long as you can? | meijiman
01/4/2016 20:06 | Called floor at 7.5 in Dec now there is merely punt money.but needs to refocus dump China and or the states .company too small to be international player.just a management distraction and expense. | charo
24/3/2016 10:29 | they fortunate major shareholder so supportive. | charo
24/3/2016 09:01 | back to the future same price as 6 years ago. | charo
01/3/2016 09:23 | That's a very fair point. Fund managers would probably find this too small and owning it would make little difference to most funds. Obviously alot of what happens here is outside management control in the sense that they are dependent on whatever their customers do. Just seems awfully quiet between formal announcements. | meijiman
30/12/2015 15:54 | If the management are running this just for themselves then they are not very good at it by AIM standards. To me their renumeration is not a concern and they have taken the correct decision to diversify in US, just when the US turns round the UK then china take a hit that's life they sell components not end products. The problem is the company is very small for a PLC so private investors make a big difference as this is so illiquid. 100K buys you over 3% of the company for a fund manager whats the point you can't buy sufficient to make it worthwhile. I have added some more yesterday and will see where we are in 2017. | wowy
30/12/2015 14:16 | Seems to be a lifestyle vehicle for management. | meijiman
30/12/2015 13:12 | 5 year low but still think near bottom . | charo
04/12/2015 06:47 | no divs for foreseeable future negative reserves in plc. | charo |
