But say its profits did rise significantly again (and why not Croydon (where many of them are based) has been mentioned in the national press as the fastest growing town in the entire UK).

I think we could be talking "Italian Job" quotes!

Full ask now being paid for small amounts. Suspect they will hike the ask up to 60p in the next hour.

Sometimes when a microcap is still on a very low rating following return to profitability it only takes a little bit of wider awareness to trigger the rerating and get it moving fast. That coupled with one or two steadily accumulating buyers is enough to be causing what we are seeing.

I would expect there to be an RNS soon saying someone has taken a big stake - I mean this is a really big rise out of the blue for no apparent reason...

One would think behind all this stuff is a buyer of some sort?

Added in two transactions at 47.4p this morning and lucky to catch the small pullback, I regretted hesitating and not adding in the mid 40s, if stock is under accumulation then we could see a continued strong share price advance.

It does feel like we are in a rather nice sweet spot for some small caps which certain stocks enjoying rapid re-ratings.

SPE is one example :o)

Was playing the percentages. I've ended up with 500 more shares than I started off with, so I didn't lose out. It pays not to be dogmatic.

Good on you for being open about your buyback prices brando.. you would probably have got nearer your target if the share price rise was due to short term traders only, however it looks to me like someone is trying to accumulate and thus the retrace was shallower.FWIW it looks like fair value on last results would be 75-100p, but if they keep up the good work then the next half year figs could point us rather higher.
