According to the announcement these were purchases of shares under the Company's non-executive director fee structure, by which the non-executive director agrees to purchase shares in the capital of the Company on a monthly basis using
part of their net monthly fee.

...so instead of boding well the purchases hold no short term information so much so that these recurring monthly purchases are even allowed to take place just prior to results..

the director buys just a few days ago possibly bode well (I know they were small amounts but it was a lot of directors) - If you factor in that there is meant to be a bit of a boom in DIY and results tomorrow.

On the negative side they were CLOSED during lockdown and social distancing measures and building trade must be having a negative effect....

So the question is how big is the DIY boom compared to the loss of building trade work?

Shame yesterdays budget did not include a voucher scheme for home improvements - spend £100 on one property and receive a discount

Travis closing branches in the news, my Local branches that are open (one is still closed) are still not accepting walk up customers, only phone bookings in advance.
Other building merchants in the area fully open.
Guess who’s not getting any business?

Problem with travis Perkins is the fluidity of prices to the trade; unless you go to the same branch for all your materials and build up a rapport with the staff to get a decent discount it’s just not worth bothering with them.
There normal walk in retail prices are extortionate.
Whatever they quote you simply ask for some trade discount and you get 20% no bother.
However I know of one joiner who uses them religiously and he gets a 50% discount as he is a face.
IMO, this is an antiquated way to run a business and Travis needs to get rid of the hidden discount structures and have transparent prices.
I know plenty of builders in the trade who each turn over 100k plus in materials who will never consider stepping foot in travis Perkins as you never know what price you will end up being quoted.

The retreat begins – Sector specific problem (building & construction) or part of the general fall back from the ramp up caused by central banks printing too much money - Remember inflation caused by too much money chasing too few goods - and thanks to general high level of shares across many companies too few equities available to soak up the surplus cash (imo) $64K question - a minor blip or the start of the 2nd down wave?

my email to ceo

Not the first time I have complained about service standards at the Barnsley branch or tinkers, hope they do not leave dog and other excrement behind them. They are additionally a health risk, because they live in cramped caravans and do not have easy recourse to water. A group of tinkermen in very close proximity.

When do you think that Barnsley will have sand / aggregate ??/ Internet showing very high numbers for some branches.
The woman at the front of house at about 1200 hrs today, not local possibly quite an abrasive manner. It would be better if she gave customers a title rather than calling out by surname. I did rather think she might be a tinker ; " givus a job or else"

Seriously why isnt there a swing barrier to prevent a tinker camp? Not expensive.

Hi Pugugly,I would be surprised any company keeps there dividend going this year until we get to May and see where we are ,Easy to re instate if things get back to normal .What you don't want is companies like hmv and house of Fraser's that didn't cut the dividend soon enough.I think it's all priced in me self .They were 6.00 two days ago.Sit tight and come back in June when it all blows over .There are no new cases in Wuhan !!!! 2.5 months after lockdown Sicknote
