8bn building supplies takeover in the US.Legged in here 670 to put on radar as int rates may be coming down a tad faster.. |
New government? |
Seems well into value territory, but what is going to turn the trend. Any ideas out there? |
Next year? We're probably in one now since Reeves & Starmer started talking the country down. |
That aged well, this will tank further along with all construction related stuff once U.K. recession gets going next year. |
RBC RAISES TRAVIS PERKINS PRICE TARGET TO 1150 (950) PENCE - 'OUTPERFORM' |
Peel Hunt has upgraded Travis Perkinsto 'add' and increased the target price from 840p to 980p. |
they cut guidance. but on the bright side they could always be sig who are even more badly run |
Weird this is still down while builders are up... It really should rise with the rest of the building trade....
I guess the market is looking at results rather than the future
Touchwood |
FTSE Futures up this morning so should be interesting day. |
blackrock has been increasing its position. It now has 5% |

JPMORGAN RAISES TRAVIS PERKINS TO 'OVERWEIGHT' (UW) - PRICE TARGET 1100 (610) PENCE |
Barrett Dev up this morning... So possibly a good day for builders and builders merchants.... I bought some more TPK on the down beat... Touchwood this is a good day to do it but I never get that right.... |
Different views , and quite interesting as we both like value . I have found a lot of value stocks stagnate . Tp have been up to 23.00And down to 220 p in financial crash . They off loaded wickes which was a shame .Interesting times |
Good luck s34icknote: but I would say PFD has growth factored into price. TPK is miles below its historic highs. With the new team, we might be near the bottom .
Also with the new team, and Labour promising to spend a fortune on building houses, "a rising tide raises all ships".
PFD have timed US expansion badly. With the falling dollar PFD will have to earn more in the the USA only to get less back on the conversion.
Travis is the one.. Touchwood (as with all investments there is always luck) |
Travis Perkins has done well with toolstation ,Benchmarx kitchens has failed to make a impact on Howdens . They have closed the woking and camberley stores . Travis Perkins branches are over priced for the small builder . So only use them for convenience . CCF has done well for them . I just can't see the growth here . PFD sales running at 17 percent higher Growth in USA for mr Kipling could be huge !Good acquisitions . Pe 12 . Eps growing . Debt reducing faster as we go with no pension contributions now . Reasonable safe hold with growth . More acquisitions as debt reduces . |
Really like the look of these two appointments - more optimistic the potential here will be realised as a result. |
Hi Sicknote - you always pop in when one of my shares does well.... PFD - The problem with premier foods is its merket cap is bigger than its turnover.
My nan would say: "PFDs eyes are bigger than its belly".
How about you trying travis perkins? Its a company that is directly linked to builders and Labour have promised us four years (at least) of mega house building - nothing the like of which has been seen since the new towns were built in the 1960s. |
Try PFD and me nett Better growth |
the share does seem to want to go up |
Market seems to like something... |
