09/8/2016 22:21 | Nice little write up of Tillman's time at Minorplanet. However if you search this site (ticker MPS) a different picture emerges. The company raised lots of money but eventually went bust. The usual story of stuffed private investors and well remunerated company directors. | orange1
09/8/2016 19:17 | Good post Dave, I think you maybe right. TW just annoys me. In his audio link he mentions how "how he does not know why the Trak price is where it is" It is where it is because his BS is scaring off decent level headed growth company hungry investors. Ever since Quindell he thinks he is like Matt Damon from Good Will Hunting.... | 40toolong
09/8/2016 13:13 | I emailed the company asking for clarification regarding updating the market for the acquisition. | blondeamon
09/8/2016 13:03 | Think you're reading too much into it 40toolong. I'd imagine it's just volatility. Some things I've noticed about Roadsense: 1. They've never lost a customer. Now that is impressive. "The Roadsense system has been sold for over ten years as a high-end ‘Rolls-Royce&r 2. The first company to launch a combined Telematics and 3G camera device. So a competitive advantage here albeit temporarily (unless another company in the meantime has developed the technology) I know Trak are along the way to doing similar. 3. They offer a modular system, making it more cost effective for customers. Good selling point. 4. Looks like they were already partners with Routemonkey 5. They bring with them a huge amount of brainpower and know how. e.g. take just the managing director. "Andrew Tillman is one of the foremost experts in the tracking and telematics industry and has advised on a number of mergers and acquisitions. He is currently Managing Director at Roadsense Technology Ltd, a telematics company for fleets who require a more flexible approach to that provided by larger providers. Between 2006 and 2011 he was Strategic Development Director at Masternaut, the largest vehicle tracking systems and mobile workforce management solutions provider in Europe, responsible for global applications development. He was also CEO of Masternaut-Three X, the developer of mobile field worker systems for the service and delivery sectors having led the acquisition of the business from GE in 2006. Prior to this role, in 1996 he was a founder of Minorplanet plc, the first commercial fleet tracking business and the pioneers of fleet telematic systems in the UK. He was responsible for the development of the company’s products and was instrumental in the growth of the business through a full listing on the LSE, following which he served as a plc board director, and a growth to 2,000 employees in 14 countries before leaving in 2005. During this period he was also President of @Track, a telematics company that was quoted on the NASDAQ." All bodes well. Don't forget the cross selling opportunities that also arise. Yes it would be interesting to know how much they paid for the acquisition but I'm sure it's mutually beneficial for both parties. Both must think so otherwise they wouldn't have done the deal. | dave2608
09/8/2016 12:41 | He says share options are being exercised by employees. Then he goes on to ASSUME they are then being sold. No proof, pure speculation as usual. As far as the perennial 'cash' issue - if trak are a good company then he will progressively proved wrong with each new set of results. As a long term investor I'll wait for the next results rather than listen to this dipstick. | cheshiremoggie
09/8/2016 08:30 | No I meant that I think the current poor performance is directly linked to the lack of RNS for last weeks purchase. Investors are fearful of what was paid. Surely if it was a low amount or next to nothing the board would have just posted "an undisclosed sum" on an RNS as they were happy for it to be on the website. One of the largest Trak holders here I can image with over 100,000 shares and all I feel is that the company is afraid of RNS because of TW and despite 2 sets of good results on the bounce, the investment community will not let this fly into the £3.00 to £4.00 arena where it should live. I remain a string holder that will see this through to the sweet end but I do wish the BoD would appreciate they need to learn to communicate effectively with the investment community | 40toolong

08/8/2016 21:12 | I don't see any news or articles. Think it's just MMs playing games when everyone is away, I always find bargains of the summer more often than not pay out hugely in autumn. | blondeamon
08/8/2016 15:15 | Something is going on, volumes are higher than normal and it is something RNS related from last week or just a growing frustration with the share from the investment community. Strong holder and just topped up, but would like to understand a bit more why we have 20% more Buy's than Sell's yet we are 8% down...... | 40toolong
08/8/2016 12:57 | Typical August lows, buying now and see it rise by October. Reckon 300p after September presentation and update. Topped up today. | blondeamon
06/8/2016 14:46 | MM - no worries - so was I - just making a point on style really - the hottest performers don't usually feel the need to get into all the politics or bad mouth others - they are too busy making money! | luckymouse
06/8/2016 14:27 | Luckymouse - I was being a little facetious. No offence intended. Don't know him, but good luck to him anyway. | michaelmouse
06/8/2016 13:42 | More and more companies ask for IPT tax exemptions for telematics insurance products for young people. When it happens TRAK could be upgraded and fly overnight. Regarding Roadsense: company is small so insignificant to sales but we just increased our devices by 10%, 15,000 extra ones that could give us lots of recurring revenue and use more of our products like cameras, extras etc A step in the right direction but some transparency on the deal is needed, I hope we didn't pay much for it or preferably nothing. | blondeamon
06/8/2016 08:47 | On TRAK web site now: " August 5th, 2016 We are delighted to announce that Roadsense Technology Ltd, has become part of the Trakm8 Group. Roadsense Technology Ltd supplies fleet telematics and safety products to customers across the UK and provides solutions to from companies with single vehicle fleets to those with over 1,500. Trakm8 has recognised the extensive experience of Roadsense in the SME sector and has acquired the business and its personnel in order to consolidate and grow its share of the SME market. The acquisition, which took place on August 1st, further strengthens the Group’s offering alongside the recent acquisitions of the trade and assets of DCS Systems, which includes the RoadHawk camera brand, and the route optimisation and scheduling experts, Route Monkey. Roadsense’s largest customer is Iceland Foods where Route Monkey is the incumbent route optimisation and scheduling supplier. The acquisition will allow Roadsense to provide an even wider range of telematic and camera systems to its customers. More importantly, the Trakm8 team will provide the financial stability and support to ensure that Roadsense can continue to provide quality products and outstanding customer service to their current and future customers. On behalf of Trakm8 Group, we would like to welcome Roadsense and their customers to the Trakm8 Group." I wonder if there were some customer meetings that TRAK / Roadsense wanted to complete before announcing to the world. In which case Roadsense jumped the gun with the announcement on their web site. | melody9999
05/8/2016 18:36 | They don't need to RNS it if it's not material to earnings or trading performance. If you're worried about negative comments from posters, tipsters or anybody else come to that then you haven't done your research properly. No offence intended. Great company about to pay a maiden dividend and growing at a pace. DYOR. | michaelmouse
05/8/2016 16:32 | As you know I am a strong holder of TRAK and always upbeat. But today was in my mind another classic excuse for the investment community to look at the business and think it is a little basic. Why not RNS this news? Why? It just looks underhand, like you paid too much or nothing at all. I did not sell a single share but I can clearly see why many did. Rant over..... Let us hope for some decent explanations / RNS next week | 40toolong
05/8/2016 14:19 | That'd be excellent yes! I wouldn't want another TW baseless attack like the rest, that's why some news would be good | blondeamon
05/8/2016 13:56 | blondeamon - Trakm8 have stated that they are providing Roadsense with the necessary financial stability. Acquisition at nil cost I'd guess? | michaelmouse |
