Yes, the talk of 'sector consolidation' has been in the chairman's report for the last couple of years. So far though, he doesn't seem to have been able to attract anyone out of their lair. Maybe he should wave his arms about a bit more!

Xena, nice to see you post. I too am confident of what the results will be. Never easy to sit still as share price falls back unless you believe in the basic strength of your investment. The investment and reorgaisation that was carried out last year should be reflected in a positive uplift in profits and we IMHO, will have something to celebrate in better than expected results. At todays price a div will be extra good value. If the results are as I suggest, a take over may not be out of the question as we know at least one big player has been looking to expand.

Trios results last year were out on 2nd December - so only about 7 weeks to wait for this years results. At the interims in May management reported cautious optimism going forward, and as we have gone past the year end with no announcement of a change, then I too am looking forward to a set of solid results.

The fact that Man and ICAP seem also to be doing well should give an indication of how Trios business is doing generally, although of course Trio is much smaller.

Interestingly Trio is still within its 3 year uptrend lines, although presently quite close to the bottom. The bottom line of the uptrend and the present share price will intersect around early December, so from a charting point of view we will either see a breakdown through the trend line, or a bounce off it as has happened on each occasion over the last 3 years when a breakdown was threatened.

I know which alternative my money is on!!!!

From memory ICAP gave a very bullish update last week. Surprised no uptick here.

GerdMiuller, Re little news, this is a major problem with most smaller companies. While they may be going forward nicely there is no new exciting action that requires a RNS or other announcement so silence and uncertainty worries some investors. It is this very situation that leads to the spectacular rises that come with some smaller companies when they publish extra good figures above expectations. The FT100 companies have announcements almost daily so not too many major surprises. I guess we just have to have faith in the reason we bought in originally and hope we were and still are right. Lets hope we are in for a big surprise later.

Just looked in to see if anyone had posted any info re price slip. So your as bewildered as I am to reason. I still believe what I posted a few weeks ago that this small trading business is a good investment. After last years reorganisation and expansion we should see very good results when published. Maybe with a lot of other shares showing quickish short term rises some have left until nearer the results. Time will tell. I'm staying in to ensure I enjoy the rise and div when it comes.

The broker who covered this company few months back tell me they are not aware of any reasons why their original assessment of the company would be displaced which means they are expecting profits in line with expectations in December/January, with medium term price @45p. Buy before action begins he advises me but DYOR.

There seems to be so little news on this one. Does anyone know if anything new is happening?

With no analyst covering the company it is difficult to have an idea as to what to expect regarding the present level of trading.

mcel101, whoever is rolling their shares over must be confident that they are worth holding. As a guess it must be costing them around £6300 a go so will need a good jump in price.

After a few days of small selling and Link disposals, one or two buyers coming back in. May be a small rise if buys contunue. Can only sit back and await news but still think we have a solid share here..

More rock and roll than even Chubby Checker could manage. Agree Big Cat, it's for the strong at heart for a while. Unless some major announcement don't expect too much to happen until results around start of December.

Did think a small rise would happen this week but this is showing more progress than expected. With no news for most of us, can only guess as to reason for current interest and investment.
