Growing up, I remember Wilton being mentioned in the same breath as Axminster, but perhaps of marginally lower quality.
Brinton's also had the Royal seal of approval.

I’m fine with people treading chewing gum into any long pile carpet, as everyone I care about either has wooden or marble floors.

It’s a sign of the times that the Axminster carpet is getting so much attention. Still I learnt something about Axminster I didn’t know. Royal seal of approval eh?

When I first used that one liner the market and the share price of oil companies were going great guns and everybody just found it funny. To be honest, I couldn’t name any other famous brands so associated with long pile carpets.

Anyway, time to focus on the game….

Sounds like Buffy would quite OK with folk trampling chewing gum into the carpet if it's not Axminster, but phoo, a spoiling a carpet that's got the Royal seal of approval is just not on
