The results are much better than feared, with solid profit and cash flow (admittedly mostly in 51% held Titon Korea). Good to read that Titon Korea should pay a dividend again to the parent company in H2. I think the share price would really react well if associate company, BTS, were to pay a dividend.

The only real downside, I see in these figures is that the Korean accounting restatement is still not fully explained (at least not in a way that was easy for me to understand). I also noted with some trepidation that IFRS16 (leases) has not yet been implemented and the Board are saying that the impact will be material - but then give no quantification at all.

'trading performance of Titon Korea was expected to be substantially lower than market forecasts at that time. However, overheads have been reduced and the gross margin actually improved in the period.

BTS, the Group's associate company, which primarily distributes ventilation products in South Korea, was also affected by lower sales in the half year. Here again, a focus on reducing costs has meant that its contribution has not been significantly impacted'

One would imagine that the share price will continue to move back towards 180 given the statement today, they were obviously concerned about the start to 2019 but it would seem those concerns were overstated.

As you say , a rather more optimistic picture than the last announcement.
Never mind 10% , it looks like a reason to go back to £2! Guess it will take a while to infiltrate the brokers ; won't exactly be front page news in the FT for little company.

Executive Chairman Keith Ritchie said: "By any yardstick, the Group's first half performance was a very good one with both underlying profit before tax and earnings rising by a fifth or more. Despite the previously announced weak housing market in Korea, group net revenue was resilient and against these headwinds our Korean business performed well".

Good timing . So far. I think it will be £2 again before too long. Maybe a year , maybe longer , maybe shorter but unless there is more bad news it has the fundamentals.

The FT published Lord Lee's latest monthly article today, where indications are that he is happy to hold on to the stock, albeit currently at a loss.He describes the Company as 'financially strong'.

Bear in mind that today's share price slide is based on the sum total of 3 trades to a total value of about £7k.

there is an exodus with 35k trades. i feel it's over done. the stock has always been tightly held by family board members . spread can be reduced depending on your haggling skills with the MM.

Good point, that is going to be an issue with any international company especially dealing outside the North American/ European Axis. I don't know how corrupt Korea is now. It used to be very corrupt. Ask Kim Il Sung . Well , perhaps not , he is a bit dead.
