22/2/2008 16:36 | Tilton, I know. I have replied twice on the BLND and MERE threads. Long lunches in France aren't they ?? G. | glynnef
22/2/2008 15:41 | Not bad £100,000 in africa oil exploration,up about 12k in 3 weeks | h d shoring
22/2/2008 15:35 | Me - ramp - shame on you - still you're quite right Tilts - I do believe it to be a great buy with that 8.35% yield and total transparency - must go - i'm meant to be serving coffee - 19c here & lunch on the terrace!!! | skyship
22/2/2008 15:31 | & now another 450k @ 2.95p - buybacks surely! Unless it's Tiltonboy topping up.. Glynne - would I? No, seriously - will post later - am in the middle of a lunch party.....may have to post after the close, but allows you time to research & check it out ahead of the Market on Monday. | skyship
22/2/2008 15:29 | Glynne, It's MERE, he's been ramping it on a number of boards...lol...., but I think you know that already!!!! tiltonboy | tiltonboy
22/2/2008 15:25 | Skyship, Are you merely teasing us again ?? G. | glynnef
22/2/2008 12:20 | 500k bt @ 2.9p - hopefully that's a buyback - a small chunk, but a chunk nevertheless in TIR terms. Will post later on another great buy for the value seekers amongst us. 25% NAV discount and an 8.35% yield - and a secure recently reaffirmed yield, not a funny money figure based upon a tenuous dividend! | skyship
19/2/2008 21:42 | Bought some Africa Oil Exploration on PLUS. Looks to me like TIRs latest investment is ready to pop...looks a bit of a Concorde Oil to me. | topvest
19/2/2008 15:44 | Hi TILTS - As I just posted on the other thread, yes, looked at OVG & certainly looks to be a buy - though I regret without me as I won't touch anything in Russia. That was one of the great things about GLA - it only operated in politically secure regions. At these levels TIR should be a buy with or without AST - as you will have read, Mark Slater favours a corporate solution to AST - he and others are pushing Jeremy Eng to find a buyer as they have a good portfolio of prospects; but the Market has written them off rather post the Agnani disappointment. | skyship
19/2/2008 14:16 | SKYSHIP, I've been in all along, but only in a small way. I should have sold them when I was on a good profit!!!! What's the form with Ascent? Have you had a look at OVG yet? tiltonboy | tiltonboy
19/2/2008 13:44 | Hi TILTS - welcome aboard. Can't remember, did you play these ahead of the spike last year; or is this the first time? Personally I'm here for the long-term on the hopeful basis that I'll outlive BR and scoop the pool when someone else takes over! | skyship
18/2/2008 17:23 | SKYSHIP, I bought 200K today, and might buy a few more. tiltonboy | tiltonboy
18/2/2008 16:45 | Cooeeee Brucie - we voted for buybacks, so will you please mop up some of this cheap stock and improve both our share price & our NAV discount. There's over £4m CASH sitting in TIR (has been for 4yrs), so why not use some of it constructively! | skyship
16/2/2008 19:05 | The way to get TIR going is to start paying a dividend and improve the PR side of the business- maybe we need John Watkins on the Board and roll-out a Starvest 2 approach. I do get the feeling that a few investments are starting to head this way. | topvest
16/2/2008 16:51 | DM - NAV now c.5.2p with about 47% in CASH - 2.45p/share. Africa Oil & U308 are possibly nice - but real tiddlers of no consequence. The best deal is TIR itself, but BR has gone to sleep on the buybacks! Topvest - I've just averaged a few AST as well. I think they may well be due a bounce. | skyship
16/2/2008 14:44 | £100k was how much Tiger invested in Africa Oil Exploration plc. Nice little investment. | topvest
16/2/2008 09:36 | Yes, maybe. However, depends on how you see AST medium term. I've just bought some AST as it looks cheap at this level. | topvest
15/2/2008 21:55 | Looks like Tiger are investing again. Not surprised, given Starvest and Sunvest are virtually fully invested... Looks interesting. | topvest
12/2/2008 22:46 | many here laughed at me cashing my shares in at 4 pence plus................ | johndee
11/2/2008 10:33 | TV - I see from the listing info that TIR paid 3.0p for their 4,166,666 (8.55%) shares in U308 Holdings. They're 9.0p-11.0p on PLUS - a price that means not a lot until they achieve something and confirm the value by transferring to AIM. Still, at 9p the notional increment is £250k, ie another 0.14p on the NAV. | skyship
08/2/2008 21:08 | Not sure exactly what they've paid - valued at c£0.5m. Cost 1/3rd or less of current price though I think as pre-IPO placing was c3p. | topvest
08/2/2008 16:30 | topvest - are those U308s quoted on Plus now - do you have a cost & current price? | skyship |
