& now another 450k @ 2.95p - buybacks surely! Unless it's Tiltonboy topping up..

Glynne - would I? No, seriously - will post later - am in the middle of a lunch party.....may have to post after the close, but allows you time to research & check it out ahead of the Market on Monday.

500k bt @ 2.9p - hopefully that's a buyback - a small chunk, but a chunk
nevertheless in TIR terms.

Will post later on another great buy for the value seekers amongst us. 25% NAV discount and an 8.35% yield - and a secure recently reaffirmed yield, not a funny money figure based upon a tenuous dividend!

Bought some Africa Oil Exploration on PLUS. Looks to me like TIRs latest investment is ready to pop...looks a bit of a Concorde Oil to me.

Hi TILTS - As I just posted on the other thread, yes, looked at OVG & certainly looks to be a buy - though I regret without me as I won't touch anything in Russia. That was one of the great things about GLA - it only operated in politically secure regions.

At these levels TIR should be a buy with or without AST - as you will have read, Mark Slater favours a corporate solution to AST - he and others are pushing Jeremy Eng to find a buyer as they have a good portfolio of prospects; but the Market has written them off rather post the Agnani disappointment.

SKYSHIP,

I've been in all along, but only in a small way. I should have sold them when I was on a good profit!!!!

What's the form with Ascent? Have you had a look at OVG yet?

Hi TILTS - welcome aboard. Can't remember, did you play these ahead of the spike last year; or is this the first time?

Personally I'm here for the long-term on the hopeful basis that I'll outlive BR and scoop the pool when someone else takes over!

Cooeeee Brucie - we voted for buybacks, so will you please mop up some of this cheap stock and improve both our share price & our NAV discount. There's over £4m CASH sitting in TIR (has been for 4yrs), so why not use some of it constructively!

The way to get TIR going is to start paying a dividend and improve the PR side of the business- maybe we need John Watkins on the Board and roll-out a Starvest 2 approach. I do get the feeling that a few investments are starting to head this way.

DM - NAV now c.5.2p with about 47% in CASH - 2.45p/share.

Africa Oil & U308 are possibly nice - but real tiddlers of no consequence.

The best deal is TIR itself, but BR has gone to sleep on the buybacks!

Topvest - I've just averaged a few AST as well. I think they may well be
due a bounce.

£100k was how much Tiger invested in Africa Oil Exploration plc. Nice little investment.

Yes, maybe. However, depends on how you see AST medium term. I've just bought some AST as it looks cheap at this level.

Looks like Tiger are investing again. Not surprised, given Starvest and Sunvest are virtually fully invested...

Looks interesting.

TV - I see from the listing info that TIR paid 3.0p for their 4,166,666 (8.55%) shares in U308 Holdings. They're 9.0p-11.0p on PLUS - a price that means not a lot until they achieve something and confirm the value by transferring to AIM.

Still, at 9p the notional increment is £250k, ie another 0.14p on the NAV.

Not sure exactly what they've paid - valued at c£0.5m. Cost 1/3rd or less of current price though I think as pre-IPO placing was c3p.

topvest - are those U308s quoted on Plus now - do you have a cost & current price?
