08/1/2008 12:19 | James 2, agreed. I have sold some early thinking that I might buy back lower but so far that's not looking a sound plan. Even now the bid price has only moved down a tad and the offer price is up. I suspect that the MM's have no stock following the recent buying by TIR, which may be a factor. Perhaps the company bought some more today!!! MJ | mjcrockett
08/1/2008 09:25 | Surprised these are up given the AST news today ! | james 2
07/1/2008 16:46 | GOOD - all buybacks make a small contribution to the NAV; as well as hoovering up loose stock: "Tiger Resource Finance plc ("Tiger" or the "Company") announces that on 4 January 2008, the Company purchased 2,250,000 Ordinary Shares of 1p each in the issued share capital of the Company ("Ordinary Shares") at a price of 3.40 pence per Ordinary Share. These Ordinary Shares are to be held as treasury stock. Following the above purchase, the Company holds 29,500,000 Ordinary Shares in treasury and the total issued share capital of the Company less treasury shares is 172,571,939 ordinary shares." | skyship
04/1/2008 14:35 | Further progress for some of Tigers' investment today. These will not be reflected in the end of year NAV though. | kombimatec
03/1/2008 15:58 | Some of Tigers' dependents had a good day today. | kombimatec
03/1/2008 13:53 | Starvest (SVE) posted it's Y/End stats today - see link below. Would be nice to see that degree of transparency over here!! | skyship
02/1/2008 17:52 | A welcome little tick-up, perhaps on the back of the improving AST. | skyship
23/12/2007 14:17 | Agreed....masterful inactivity, though for all we know they may well have made a few coups over the past few months and we would never know until they deign to issue 6month late Interims or Finals. It's the rank poor reporting that really annoys me. Still, one bright day they could unleash a deal to transform the Company, a deal which could take us up to the NAV level and into blue sky beyond. So, until that day, they represent a core holding for me as the buybacks should ensure only marginal downside whilst waiting for payday. That said, I still don't understand why they don't spend most of the unwanted cash reserve with a tender offer @ 5.0p - seems the obvious way to provide some shareholder value in the meantime. | skyship
22/12/2007 08:07 | Agreed, that not much happening. Then again, at least Bruce hasn't lost our money which is more than can be said at many companies. I think Colin Bird will eventually find something to do with Tiger. Lets face it with Colin and Bruce as the key board members, this share has a better chance than most of being big one day. I'm happy to hold for at least a couple more years. | topvest
21/12/2007 16:52 | No christmas bonus for BR or CB and no management fees deserved either !! 2 years of masterly inactivity. this is virtually a dormant company with little activity and no updates on portfolio cos or their progress or expectations. The share price is about the same as it was 2 years ago - says it all really. Sorry to be so downbeat but really p..d off. | curt3
19/12/2007 18:20 | Witteklip - 4.7m traded @ 3.105p - Looks as though those buybacks may be kicking in - we should see an RNS tomorrow - though knowing TIR - make that a week tomorrow! | skyship
18/12/2007 19:00 | biggest issue here is whether or not to get out at 07/08 CGT allowances or wait and see future developments in CGT reqs for time being I doubt much will happen that is favourable to longer term holders as ever in hindsight would have been better to bale out 2 months ago and get back in now or even later | crazy russian
18/12/2007 18:56 | Anyone think TIR will go to 3p before Bruce adds any treasury shares? | witteklip
14/12/2007 20:16 | Tiger should have bought lots of BRR.....one of the biggest growth companies around(mining too).............gon | johndee
14/12/2007 11:05 | Yes - just seen that - came back here to find you're on the ball. Herewith the announcement: Worth keeping an eye on the RVD thread: My spreadsheet has RVD @ 4.3p - a relisting @ 6.3p would add 0.25p to our NAV, ie 0.125p for every 1p on RVD | skyship
14/12/2007 10:57 | skyship thaks R. | pugugly
14/12/2007 10:43 | Skyship, Thanks for the info. What price have you used for RVD in your valuation? RVD have announced a placing at 6p this morning which compares to the 4.4p for their quote when suspended. MJ | mjcrockett
14/12/2007 09:53 | My spreadsheet states an undiluted Gross NAV of 6.42p - I believe that last & 3wk late NAV statement was incorrect. The principal holdings are: AST Val. 32.3% NPE Val. 8.2% RVD Val. 6.4% FRA Val. 3.0% PAF Val. 3.3% Other Val. 6.1% Cash Val. 40.6% Note in particular the £500k uplift in River Diamonds! Absurd that 200k sale @ 3.1p - MM offering 6% under Market to take the large line (200k = all of £6000!! - WOW). Holder must have sold through a bank or broker to get shafted like that. | skyship
13/12/2007 14:07 | On the slide ? 200,000 sold at 3.1p Franconia down heavily now $1.29 (ok may have gained a bit on the exchange rate but still down heavily in UK £. Most other holdings also down - Anyone done a rough and dirty nav? | pugugly
13/12/2007 10:24 | Reference post 974 in August, cyclingnut said TIR were keen on AFE at 11-12p. All pre credit squeeze I guess, but we have cash. AFE are now 10p or less. I wonder what their view is now ? regards, GF. We hold TIR in an investment club. | glynnef
01/12/2007 20:30 | SKYSHIP Apologies. I've just checked my account, and you're quite correct it was at 3.5p. I've misinterpreted £0.035 as 3.35p. I thought I was getting an early xmas present........hopef Pote. | pote
01/12/2007 16:16 | See they have sent a notice out re. a dividend reinvestment plan. I'll take shares going forward. | topvest
01/12/2007 13:22 | Hi POTE Over the past few days we've seen the following trades: 25k @ 3.40p 100k @ 3.421p 14450 @ 3.403p 58993 @ 3.5p 56575 @ 3.5p 10k @ 3.304p 30k @ 3.45p Not sure which were buys and which sales. I do know that the cheapest offer I rec'd online was @ 3.5p. I also assume that yr buy was the 56575 @ 3.5p - not 3.35p. Whichever - certainly a good buy. Yes, they still hold those AST - as far as I am aware. I've been buying a few of those this week; and pleased to see them now ticking up & closing the week @ 16.5p-17.0p. You'll see comments on the ADFN B/b thread. | skyship |
