On course now..wasn't long ago these were over £8!!.. Matty won't be entertaining any bid which isn't close to £5.17..my bird told me last night in doggie.

Share price looked like it may have started to run away until mid morning then took a hit.

Possibly shorters and profit takers took over from there on.

With the glum retail sales figures yesterday which were worse than anaysts had forecast and worse to come.

Once reality kicks in and the public cut back on just about everything HUT like most retailers will struggle bear in mind online now is falling faster than bricks and mortar stores.

Juat my opinion I am not wanting to trash the company, but its still not making a meaningful profit EBITDA is a smokescreen to try and jolly the share price on.

Yep there are no were near as many people in this forum who don't hold any THG shares but like to give negative advice to holding share holders.A few months ago there were loads so it says a lot that they have moved on.

Sunday papers tomorrow may have some insights on the takeover. Still believe old Charlie our new Chairman and Matt will be buying heavily in the market now close period is over. I think MM said he's not in talks with anyone suggests he wants to be buying stock down here first. Once MM has loaded up he will then open up talks . Being in talks would prevent him from buying

ROFL LOL, you do have a peculiar sense of hunour :)

The biggest signal that we have in THG absolutely sky rocketing, is the paid derampers on show in full force across all boards/twitter along with confirmation shorts are closing last week.

This is the single biggest signal we can have. The more desperate they seem, you know whats going to happen, as they are absolutely bricking it!

Me and my bird Sheila have seen the books.. bids should be coming in close to the ipo price at £5.17.. this is where I might consider selling my stock to Mrs Simons.

No wonder MM has been sounding super confident, he's been batting away PE bids left right centre last few weeks!

IMHO just a waiting game, you can sense it. PE firms dont walk away after 1-2 bids, it's a staged game, get a feel for what 'price' will be acceptable. No doubt whatsoever having declined all these bids, at the same time they will have been told, offer us in this range, and we will then have to consider.

I.e. we reject your bid at 300p, if you improve the bid to 450p, the BOD will consider.

Now a waiting game. PE firms will go back, crunch the numbers again etc and will return...

The way I read this, they flatly rejected all the parties. Aswel as multiple bids from one or more PE firm!

They will be back, there is no doubt. Carlyle Group enter the bidding, counter bids will be submitted from existing interested PE firms.

Its a big game, game theory, alot of egos involved within PE circles to see who can boast of bagging it. Competition within themselves.

MM has upped the anti to all the PE firms, it's up for grabs, if you come close to out fair value expectations!

After last year telling a conference that he should not have listed in London for a $7.7 billion IPO back in September 2020, and that the experience “has just sucked from start to finish,” the fact that this week he has been batting off takeover rumors is unlikely to have softened his mood.

Indeed, while Manchester-based THG runs highly successful beauty and nutrition websites including Lookfantastic, Cult Beauty and Myprotein, both THG and Moulding have rarely been out of the headlines, the latest this week forcing Moulding to dismiss “numerous̶1; takeover approaches as “unacceptable”, saying they undervalued the company at a time when he would much rather be talking about robust trading.

THG Posts Strong Results

The irony is that news of the offers has come just as THG confirmed a 35% increase in revenues to $2.8 billion, helping push adjusted earnings up 7% to $207 million. First quarter results also showed a 16% leap in revenue to $669 million.

Moulding said it was a strong performance that was ahead of the targets set when THG went public and he singled out the strong performance of Ingenuity, a division building direct-to-consumer websites for other companies, which is key part to the company’s growth plans.

As for the U.K. IPO, Moulding said previously: “Now, there's a reason I should have gone [to the U.S.], and actually I'd have had no profile as well, which would have suited me. No one would have written on me if I'd have been listed in the U.S. But it just is what it is. Next year [2022], it will be a different lesson.”
