Can you not realise for yourself what's actually going on here!...The Mould is looking to take his pride and joy private for pittance and the lower it goes the more excited he becomes except you'll be left holding onto the excess baggage believing otherwise as you invariably do unfortunately!

Dow futures up another 200 points , wouldn’t be surprised if it hit all time record today.

Nasdaq already there.

THG 3% down again and back at 12 month lows.

Take a bow Matt. Think a chimp could have done better.

The latest data from the Office for National Statistics shows that retail sales volumes fell 3.2% on the month in December.

This represents the worst decline since January 2021 and was much bigger than the 0.5% drop forecast by City economists.

Heather Bovill, deputy director for surveys and economic indicators at the ONS, said: "Food stores performed very poorly, with their steepest fall since May 2021 as early Christmas shopping led to slow December sales.

"Department stores, clothing retailers and household goods retailers reported sluggish sales too as consumers spent less on Christmas gifts.

"The longer-term picture remains subdued, with quarterly sales dipping, while annual sales volumes fell for the second consecutive year, to their lowest level in five years."

Let’s look at the facts.

Nasdaq at all time highs - tick
Dow close to all time highs - within 1% - tick
We have £2 billion of turnover - tick
We have a world leading nutrition brand- tick
We deal with all the uk major supermarkets- tick
We are a high tech company with Ingenuity and spent multi millions which now gives us a leading advantage and barrier to entry- tick
We have £600m of cash and facilities - tick
We will be FCF positive this year - tick
We have only 1% of returns in the business which is quite exceptional - tick
We have an exceptional customer retention rate having supported them through the inflation cycle - tick
We have had many bids over past 18 months- tick

AND YET WE ARE AT 12 MONTH LOWS WITH THE SHARE PRICE AT 69P. -

And I’m sure 99% of people within the company and on here would say we are now better positioned than we were at the IPO at £5

And to think the spivvs think they know best FFS. Less than 1 in 3 over 10 years beat the tracker for their chosen market and you have had the privilege of paying exuberant fees on top.

However, FT readers fared a little better than professional fund managers. The latest Manager vs Machine report from stockbroker AJ Bell shows just 36 per cent of active fund managers beat the average passive alternative in 2023 across seven key equity sectors.

One year is admittedly a short timeframe to judge performance, but over 10 years, just 32 per cent of active managers beat their benchmark.

Thus, most investors in active funds have not only failed to beat the market, but they’ve paid for the privilege in the form of higher investment fees. Laith Khalaf, head of investment analysis at AJ Bell, notes this dawning realisation is reflected in fund flows over the past five years, with £9bn withdrawn from active funds and £75bn flowing into passives.

The bid wasn't a great valuation of the company so unsure the comment of the board for the materially undervalued for a long time comment and they accepted an offer of 50% increase.

Remember Toasty has loads of aliases everywhere.
He was also short Currys today because of his legendary data.
Incidentally all the data tips have been proved wrong so far and his only correct tip was THG (2Jan) and that was ‘innocently(?)’ given to him by a fellow advfn poster.
In my opinion Toasty is considerably leddtrustworthy than Mad Matt!
That speaks volumes.
Strange world.
