Blackrock loaning shares out if true the shorters are worried now. At this level need a good RNS or some serious buying constant . To flush them out

It's difficult to determine when the stock is actually sold other than the FCA short positions which we have access to, the monthly Crest on loan data moved from 2.71% in Aug to 6.54% Sept represents stock 'marked'' for lending.

This is a bit like mortgaging your house say for 50k, you have a lien against the house registered on your deeds, the lender may also have sent funds but these could sit in your account unused (and returned).

Naked short selling was stopped following the 08 crash, since then you have to demonstrate access to stock in case you have to cover.

soleman18 Dec '21 - 18:57 - 5751 of 5751, under section 8B1 it refers directly to Securities Lending falling below 5% and attached voting rights, when stock is loaned voting rights are lost temporarily.

Please note this is only my interpretation which may be incorrect.

1pencil, what leads you to believe they had lent out the position?

Thanks for that insight pencil I have much to learn, appreciate you saying this.So would it only have been lent on the 7th? And the shorting is probably to come?

That's an unusual TR1 for the following reason. It appears they have lent out the whole of their position to short lending which is possible given they have a securities lending division. If this is the case it may cause a short squeeze as they call in the stock borrow.

I would have to read up fully on the regulation below but this certainly looks to be the case.
