The company spent nearly 600m on acquisitions this year. Do we know how good these deals were? Then there is the "8% of the company" bonus to MG and all the shares dished out to managers that have been dumped. He doesn't mention that this dysfunctional market enabled the company and insiders to sell 2.5 billion pounds of shares. It is precisely the hangover from these high priced purchases that has caused the panic selling in the shares

GS are not strategic investors here (or in most other UK companies where they have a holding). It's a sort of transitory position related to brokerage activity. Their +/- 1% changes in holdings are meaningless

If you check through Goldman RNS in company they still own more shares than they did when this started to fall . I. Fact looks like they have been trading the company short . Now they have gone long again

For the record, my nob remains on the table. They've over dripped the price hence we are in price correction mode before heading back to £5.16
Level 4 guidance has this heading back above the ipo price pdq.

Hope this helps the normal ones and the genuine nobs

What evidence is there this was heavily shorted? There was one plus 1% short and no other major shorters?

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/uk-float-was-a-mistake-says-thg-boss-matt-moulding-273xhq232He blames the short sellers. How about floating at a grossly over inflated sp, and the failure thus far of the new division to generate traction, and the opaque governance?

Interesting that he said that friends and himself hold over half the shares. If you add that to the percentages held by II's then that doesn't leave much liquidity. Is that how the shorters have managed to move the price so far and so easily?

There 100% shorting on borrowed shares as well . All everyone has to do is inform there brokers not to allow them to lend your shares out . Then watch this move up very quickly Email your broker . I do not allow under any condition for you as my broker to lend or loan my shares out . THG .

"...given a billion pounds to staff, who've sold most of their shares..."

Not a good look :D Though obviously they're going to cash in.

Lots of shorts below the 0.5 threshold. I believe him on that...That's how they do it. But I've not bought any shares. I've not sold any shares. To me, it doesn't really matter. The business is amazing. It's in better shape than it's ever been. We've beaten all the numbers we've ever said we're going to do. So that bit's OK. It's actually just operating in this environment sucks."

Reading the article he certainly has a point. I was quite critical in some earlier posts, but frankly he is hunkering down and getting on with running the company. In essence he likely did not listen to some earlier advice to split his roles and ensure that transparency regarding the lease on the HQ was firmly in the domain of big investors. The above post, are profits so important when you are building a company with a particular model, there are a number of very large, young companies in the US in a similar position. Growth in revenue probably more important at the current time.

What are the actual profits? Revenue means nothing

5 Nov 2021: "THG boss Matt Moulding: ‘The obvious lesson is: don’t IPO in the UK’

MM having another pop at shorters / the UK for permitting it. Might upset a few - and perhaps have an adverse effect on the sp? - but the lad has some balls and I admire him for taking a stance on what is presently allowed.

He also mentions a few times how the business has not been better; "The business is amazing. It's in better shape than it's ever been. We've beaten all the numbers we've ever said we're going to do".
