21/4/2021 17:54 | The Nomad should IMO be rapping them on the fingers. Saying ..... you announced by full RNS (8.4.18) a partnership of no value. Why? Today, being part of the team that produced a global standard is newsworthy IMO, for an RNS. No immediate monetary value today, granted, as was the case in the Gemalto example of April 2018. But .... Newsworthiness: no other oompany has publically been mentioned (by the SDO designer Intel) by name for the device lifetime management step in the FIDO standard (modelled on Intel SDO), except for DA, since the inception of SDO (Oct 2017). DA was mentioned by name for that explicit step by Intel (webinar August 2019). So worthy IMO of a full RNS. | andrbea
21/4/2021 17:52 | Growing opportunities in the Internet of Things hxxps://www.mckinsey This article appeared in July 2019 so I guess it’s been found by someone here before. Anyway I hope it’s a useful contribution for someone like me who’s interested in learning more. It’s got different projections on numbers of devices but that’s to be expected. Here’s an extract Significant market opportunities The IoT technology stack has advanced over the past five years—in the meantime, each layer holds significant market growth opportunities. Device-enablement platforms have an especially strategic advantage of enabling related IoT growth while still in their own growth phase. | 1denizen
21/4/2021 17:06 | Back in April 2018 Tern would put an RNS just to announce a partnership at DA Applying today's more exacting 2021 rules to that particular 2018 RNS ... there was no contract of material significance that day, so why issue an RNS at all? Compare today's news, FIDO is not a monetary step for DA, as yet, so they don't issue an RNS. But in their 2018 approach, they would have.... IMO. Tern PLC: DA Strategic Partnership with Gemalto 04-Apr-2018 / 07:00 GMT/BST Dissemination of a Regulatory Announcement, transmitted by EQS Group. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. 4 April 2018 Tern Plc (the "Company", or the "Group") DA Strategic Partnership with Gemalto Tern CEO Al Sisto said: "We are delighted to see DA team up with another major technology player. Although it will not deliver revenues immediately, I am confident that the combined proposition will prove to be highly marketable when interoperability has been achieved. We look forward to DA progressing this technological relationship and communicating further regarding this, and other developments in general over the coming months. | andrbea
21/4/2021 16:52 | IMHO. Tern is the Bank of small companies involved in, iot. Barclays or TSB can not comment on how the Companies who borrow from them are doing on a day to day basis. Likewise Tern surely cannot make any comment on any aspects of a company they are not intrinsically involved with, until year end, or cessation of Contract of engagement, Float/ipo. Is that too simplistic?? | stephen1946

21/4/2021 16:22 | How Many IoT Devices Are There in 2021? IoT is a rapidly growing industry. There are a predicted 46 billion connected devices for this year alone, while 31 billion devices will be installed worldwide by the end the year. So, how many IoT devices are there in 2021? The answer is not very simple, but here are what stats say: 1. The number of connected devices in 2021 is set to hit 46 billion. (Source: Juniper Research) According to Juniper Research’s latest report, the number of IoT devices in 2021 will reach the eye-opening 46 billion. For comparison, this is a 200% increase compared to 2016. 2. By the end of 2021, 31 new billion IoT devices will be installed around the world. (Source: Security Today) If you’ve ever wondered how many new IoT devices there will be by 2021, we can now tell you – around 31 billion. Meaning that by the end of 2021, 31 new billion IoT devices will be in use worldwide. A significant rise in the existing number of IoT devices last year. 3. By 2030, this figure is expected to jump to 125 billion. (Source: Martech Advisor) So, you know how many devices are out there. But what about the future? It is expected that every customer of IoT devices will own around 15 connected devices. Quite a jump from the average number of devices currently owned. | skidaddle

21/4/2021 16:15 | Don't forget the role of the global system integrators (with their existing customers) In my view the IoT customers will go initially to a SI like Tech Mahindra or Wipro (both partnered with DA for 2 years now) They are familiar with KeyScaler and will, by now, have use cases (eg 'securing oil equipment', the Wipro slide from earlier) and off-the-shelf solutions that can be tweaked to give a customized solution, which will work at GREAT scale, with policy input, eg from a hospital on how it wants to onboard its devices eg surgical robots. This is where DA's tentacles to the SIs will start to pay dividends. | andrbea

21/4/2021 16:11 | Nick, my understanding is if the news had applied directly to Tern as the listed entity it becomes material (tho financially unquantifiable) but DA as all Tern's investments are Limited Co's and DA were quick to release the news .. It matters not, the value will be unlocked at the exit/IPO stage and these are the events no Investor will want to miss ! | moneymaker6
21/4/2021 16:09 | many moons ago, Mike I think said DA was binary, it could grab virtually all the market but if it didn't it would only need a little bit to become huge.. Well, I think we might be a little bit closer now to them grabbing an awful lot not just a little. exciting times. | still waiting |
