Roll forward 12 months and I can see a wyld type platform everywhere.

And even helping the concerts and events it had been originally planned for.

Just saw the news, 11 died of coronavirus in a Fife care home. Sad, but it only strengthens the case for Wyld Networks solution.

Looking into the future, if KS had a BSI Kitemark and was accredited to ISO SAE 21434 (e.g. data security and certificate management for connected cars), now that would be interesting....
Form an orderly queue (makers of automotive components & carmakers)

Or DA could be totally isolated from the market because they lack compliance. DA could end up rewriting their code to try and keep up with legislation at a cost just to be in the same position that they started with.

Be careful what you wish for.

The large companies will help write the legislation to suit them. It is always the same. Who do you think will be the experts that give advise on this topic, it will be the big companies trying to corner the market.

Interesting article on how Longer Chip Lifecycles Increase the Security threat

"Conclusion

While most system design teams look at partitioning by function or physical effects, increasingly that also needs to include security. Just packing all security measures into a single device has been shown repeatedly to be insufficient. Spread out over a longer lifetime, that approach becomes a liability.

“There is a lot of interest in splitting things up into different layers and isolating different functions,” said Rambus’ Handschuh. “So you can find CWEs (common weakness enumerations) that are publicly known and you can scan against 80% or 90% of the known weaknesses. But most of those only address bugs. You also need to segment, as you get closer to the heart of the system, who has access to the source code. That provides a little more assurance around your updates.”

Still, when it comes to security, nothing lasts forever. Holes get plugged, and new ones crop up. The key is to stay vigilant and to have plans in place to minimize damage when breaches do occur."

Let’s consider Keyscaler is awarded the kite mark etc, would we see all the other companies that are selling Keyscaker as a white label become obvious, as no doubt they would sing about the accreditation?

'Connected' standards

A new joint ISO/SAE standard, the first of its kind, has been developed to support the automotive industry in aligning itself with emerging cyber security regulation from the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). ISO SAE 21434 has had input from the UK and global automotive community, and is due to be published in 2021.

BSI PAS standards – such as PAS 1885 on vehicle security and PAS 11281 on connected and autonomous vehicles – have led the way in thinking about automotive cyber security. This is true in both the context of the vehicles themselves; and the supporting ecosystem including data services, aftermarket, communications between vehicles and roadside infrastructure.
