06/12/2023 20:23 | + there will be some funds who look at the 1% fixed upside (offer price minus market price) over the next 60-90 days as within their return mandate once annualised | adamb1978
06/12/2023 14:08 | Buy at 408p and take the 412 1/2p offer. Then there will always be some private retail investors who think there'll now be a 'Bidding War' which will push the offer price substantially higher. | loganair
06/12/2023 13:17 | Why are peopls still buying I wonder? Any thoughts pls? | niklol

06/12/2023 09:11 | Just out of interest... Data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) shows the proportion of UK shares held by overseas investors at the end of 2022 hit a record high of 57.7% of the value of the UK stock market In contrast, the proportion of UK based shares held by Brits fell to 10.8%. Even the proportion of UK stocks owned by pension funds and insurance companies has hit a record low, down £1.3blln over the third quarter according to the ONS. Investors from the USA held the largest proportion of UK quoted shares of any country outside of the UK, according to the ONS, standing at £626.1 billion in 2022. Investors from the Netherlands held the largest proportion of UK quoted shares of any European country outside of the UK, at £99 billion in 2022, the ONS said. Meanwhile, UK insurance and pension companies held a historically low proportion of UK quoted shares at 4.2%, this has has fallen from a high of 45.7% in 1997. Adam Pickett, independent financial adviser for McLaren Capital, says these statistics show the different views of Britain from abroad. “Overseas investors look to Britain and see a nation that is avoiding extremism and is growing faster than its neighbours,” he says. “They also see a stock market that is well-valued and paying good dividends. In other words, they're taking an objective view. "Conversely, Brits have a very different picture. We have a government that is deeply unpopular and will be in power for another year, and we are feeling pressure on our budgets and in our hospitals. These are things that are being felt across the world, but we don't see it, and lead us to be deeply pessimistic about our country's future.” | loganair
06/12/2023 07:55 | Yes, just a shame to see another disappear. WOuld have prefer to get to the price organically | adamb1978
06/12/2023 07:20 | Well done all here! | bigbigdave
05/12/2023 22:04 | Think that's about 440p per share. Nice return, though my 2-3 year target price was 494p Happy to bank the profit but its another company that de-lists in London....wont be anything for us to invest in soon!! | adamb1978
05/12/2023 21:17 | If true £300mln = circa 400p per share. | loganair

19/10/2023 08:32 | Upbeat trading statement from BOWL this morning, suggests market conditions are still favourable for the sector. Rating here is very undemanding | adamb1978
29/9/2023 19:04 | Handful of consecutive closes now above the 295p level which had previously been resistance. Would be great if it holds these levels | adamb1978
20/9/2023 08:43 | QS99 - regarding your holiday comment, worth having a look at trading statements from OTB, Easyjet, Jet2 re advanced booking for 2024. OTB is very good value in my view | adamb1978
20/9/2023 08:28 | Looks really interesting. I think as cost of living crisis really bites, as people come off fixed rate mortgages, maybe a last hurrah of holidays abroad this year, that more will look to entertainment at home....as you say, net cash, highly profitable and cash generative with yield. DYOR | qs99
20/9/2023 08:23 | No, I dont think so Adjusted PBT looks flat. EPS of just under 18p for H1 which more than supports the market forecasts of 32p for the year. So its on a PE of <9, net cash, decent ROE and ROCE, dividend increased....looks cheap | adamb1978 |
