21/12/2010 23:09 | Hi GHF, Ill be selling my small holding here in the morning - big 60% loss. I was hoping that some good news might come, well it did sort of as they arent bust! Obviously been on the cards for a while, as the chart clearly show. | stegrego
21/12/2010 22:35 | Ouch! These were still on my watchlist and an email received of after-hours RNS release of results in the Christmas week told its own story - before I even took a peek. Not content with an EBITA loss of £1.1m, they've thrown in the kitchen sink (mainly goodwill) and rounded it up to an even £13m pre tax loss. Directors are certainly throwing a wedge in....subscribing for £440k of shares in the placing. As for the shareprice, I think the market will steer clear until there is further evidence of recovery.....and so will I for the timebeing. Regards, GHF | glasshalfull
21/12/2010 22:07 | Not great - but a placing at 8p so probably underwrites the share price at that level now. | stegrego
19/11/2010 00:42 | Bob Geldof he no charity man he wants you to give him the f ing money its now nearly 5years to the day that alex connek said i have a 5year plan shareholders will be rewarded if they stick with it yea right | patricia59
19/11/2010 00:26 | market cap 5 or 6 million, but bosses paying themselves the wages of a company with a 10 billion pound market cap. Tal bosses pay themselves on a par with BP bosses. Youv'e really got to laugth | patricia59
18/10/2010 07:30 | Could these be bought out at this level? | strangled69

15/10/2010 20:53 | Bob Geldof's Ten Alps loses £10m-a-year government deal for Teachers TV Shares in Sir Bob Geldof's production company Ten Alps plunged 37pc to 9.7p on Friday as the Government axed its £10m-a-year contract to make Teachers TV. 15/10/2010 14:48 | The RNS did not state the material impact (if any) of this project cancellation. The fact they did not state the material impact only leads to uncertainty and speculation which the markets do not like, hence the price fall. The additional paragraph stating the increased urgency on cutting costs (IMHO) implies there is worse to come. However, this is all IMHO of course, DYOR etc. Time will tell of course, but certainly no one rushing to buy at these levels. | itchycrack
15/10/2010 13:45 | Seeing as they are supposed to do 4p this year, itmwould have to be a pretty bad warning for them to trade at half this ie 6p!!!!!!! | stegrego
15/10/2010 13:12 | Could be a bit early yet to buy in. Short term this is not looking good IMHO. I can see a possible profits warning on the way in which case you may be able to buy in at half the current price. All IMHO of course, DYOR etc. | itchycrack
15/10/2010 13:00 | can buy at under mid. Bought my first lot at 11.35. Bit concerned about the cash position though | mister md
15/10/2010 09:57 | looks like an over discount here on the share price didn't think there was too much reliance off teachers tv for revenues | empirestate
15/10/2010 09:18 | I noticed they make a point of saying "no prior notification". So they had heard unofficially. As had I in a sense - I remember reading it in a newspaper this summer that Teachers' TV was unlikely to have a future. I just assumed the fallen share price had already discounted it. Strange business... TAL is a company I want to support because of its products, but they don't give the impression they value their shareholders much, as others have noted. However, even without Teachers' tv they may well be undervalued. We need to hear some sense of direction - not sure China is hopeful. | don carter
15/10/2010 08:34 | RNS Number : 4404U Ten Alps PLC 15 October 2010 Trading update Multimedia producer Ten Alps Plc ("Ten Alps" or the "Company") has received notification from the Department for Education that the Teachers TV project has been terminated, to take effect on 29 April 2011. No prior notification had been given. The directors will consider the options available to them in relation to the online TV project. Separately, following an ongoing review of the Company's business by the Board, Ten Alps has commenced a reorganisation of its business streams in order to reduce overheads and simplify the Company's offering in the marketplace. The directors will make further announcements as required. This has seemed directionless for sometime and the termination of the Teachers TV project was almost inevitably going to be high up on the list of public spending cuts. On my Watchlist for some time now but never yet tempted to take a position. | masurenguy
11/10/2010 20:32 | A few recent snippets.... not much mind: | poggy pig
06/10/2010 06:36 | I mailed the CE in September asking, basically, what the board was going to do for long-suffering shareholders, and suggesting a dividend would be a very good start. Part of Alex Connock's reply was: "We understand the argument you make on dividend policy. Each year we have to balance any case for paying a dividend against the case for retention of cash or investment in new projects. I can assure you that whilst of course we could not give any guarantee as to which way the discussion will go, the issue of whether a dividend could or should be paid is something we will definitely review as a board next May when we come to review our annual results." I would have thought it was something they would "definitely review" every six months as a matter of course. Lets face it: TAL do not care a damn about shareholders; management are awash with options and extremely well paid, why should they bother with us? Fortunately, whilst my original holding bought at around 50p in 2004 has declined to mere fun-money, I have not been tempted to add to the pile of ... Good luck Doze | dozey1
03/10/2010 14:33 | an overlooked gem ? Yes Rev was 15% down last year but still made adj eps 4.95. Cash was well down but so were debtors. Has opened a China office. Profitable, cash-generator despite the recession. Should again make 5p eps for a pe/ of only 3. May not move much as first half expected to be "weaker" but very cheap now at 14.5 p imho. Looking forward to trading update due v soon. | puku
27/8/2010 13:14 | Got a few more nilip thanks for that it is hardly worth the effort for 5k looks as if the buyers are back anyway do not think the 40k sold represent a seller but at the end of the day TAL is a solid performer and I for one will hold for some time now, always seem to make more from my buy and holds than the short time trades I can see TAL back around 60p in the next year or so. | wskill
27/8/2010 12:50 | ws, Can buy 25k now on-line ... MM's seem to have been spooked again by those sells ... If there's still a seller out there then we could stay stagnant at this price for a while (hopefully we wont dip back again !) Peeps just too nervous to buy anything it seems and they're all too happy to sell at the slightest rise it seems. | nilip
27/8/2010 12:36 | Price ticks up ... and we get a barrage of sells :-( Up 25% today ... Lets hope it holds. | nilip
27/8/2010 08:26 | Good morning all a nice little tick up already 1 buy on plus only so must be a delayed trade to cause this tick up. | wskill |
