09/12/2005 14:47 | They expect profits to continue to grow in the second half and they have £7.5m in cash. It's just a shame they stuck that last line in which sounds a bit negitive, when things are clearly going very well. | encarter
09/12/2005 14:21 | Super Results.... Ten Alps H1 profit jumps LONDON (AFX) - TV production group Ten Alps PLC has posted strong set of interim results and remained upbeat on the future, although it said the substantial profit growth seen in the first half is unlikely to be repeated in the second half of the year. First-half pretax profits leapt to 1.4 mln stg from just 0.1 mln last time, whiles sales grow 85 pct to 22.0 mln stg. Adjusted pretax profit excluding goodwill amortisation increased to 1.8 mln stg from 0.3 mln last time. Looking ahead, the company said its full-year results "should show continued profits growth" with the company having "strong" production slate. "Trading is favourable and the market is expanding," said Finance Director Nitil Patel in a statement. "But whilst the results for the (second half) could see profits growth, the rate of growth will not be as radical as we have just seen," he added. | unionhall
02/12/2005 12:41 | Ten Alps and RDF Media quash speculation over TV Corp bid approach 255 words 2 December 2005 07:21 AFX UK Focus English Copyright AFX News, 2005 All reproduction and presentation rights reserved. LONDON (AFX) - Television production companies Ten Alps Communications PLC and RDF Media Group denied they are in talks with Television Corporation PLC about possibly buying the maker of BBC's Question Time. Earlier this morning TV Corp said it is in talks with another party about a possible all cash offer for the company but added there is no certainty the approach would result in a formal bid. Analysts said production companies Ten Alps, which was co-founded by Bob Geldof, and RDF Media, which makes Wife Swap and Faking It, could be interested in buying TV Corp. However a RDF Media spokeswoman said there was 'nothing to substantiate these reports', while a Ten Alps spokesman said it was not the company that had signed a non-disclosure agreement with Television Corp. The latest approach from a potential new buyer comes weeks after an approach by Tinopolis PLC, which said it had received irrevocable undertakings and letters of intent to accept its offer for Television Corp from about 50.9 pct of TV Corp shareholders. This morning TV Corp strongly urged shareholders to take no action regarding the offer from Tinopolis. | sivadnoj

28/11/2005 16:40 | Looks like revenue continues to increase although message 348 above says it all. 03/11/2005 13:47 | At the last results they said that they would update the market on a range of topics in October (see post 341). To my mind the Teachers TV update and Ten Alps Midland update did not cover all the topics flagged. I think this is overdue a re-rating. Results are beginning of December I think based on prior years, so either we will have to wait for then or (maybe given the volume increase) the market is expecting that delayed October update rather sooner. | earplug

16/9/2005 06:14 | Launch of Ten Alps Midlands TV group Ten Alps PLC ('Ten Alps') announces the launch of Ten Alps Midlands, a new operating division producing factual television programmes, based on: * A year-long weekly regional political TV commission from the BBC, launching this Sunday. * Purchase by Ten Alps' subsidiary Ten Alps TV Limited, for cash, the production and development slate of Derbyshire-based TV production company Rock Hammer Productions Limited ('Rock Hammer'), and a contract with its founder, Charles Hunter, to produce and develop programmes. Located in Derby, Ten Alps Midlands is producing for BBC Midlands a twelve month weekly political TV programme commission, The Politics Show, to launch this Sunday (18 September.) This is a new 20-minute, opt-out section of BBC 1's networked The Politics Show, produced for the BBC East Midlands region, featuring live political outside broadcasts, filmed reports and studio segments from around the region. Ten Alps Midlands is also currently negotiating contracts for two smaller commissions. Ten Alps Midlands has also today entered into a three year consultancy agreement with Charles Hunter. Mr Hunter will work with Ten Alps Midlands with a view to getting the production and development slate purchased by Ten Alps Midlands commissioned, as well as working with Ten Alps Midlands on future programme concepts. The consultancy agreement provides for profit-sharing in respect of such commissions. Rock Hammer produced The Last Word for ITV Carlton, Cheating At Athens (in association with another company) for Channel 4 and Seven Natural Wonders of the Midlands for BBC2. Ten Alps Midlands will specialise in Ten Alps' group-wide core business of factual TV. It will be in a position to target regional quotas and incentives from the BBC and other broadcasters, which many in the industry believe will be significant. The acquisition cost, paid in cash, was not material in the context of the Ten Alps group finances. Ten Alps owns four factual TV companies - Brook Lapping, 3BM TV, Blakeway Productions and Ten Alps TV and has a majority stake in another, Teachers' TV. | leopold555

Has been a very frustrating stock to hold and want to get out for something a bit more exciting!! thinking of Minco (MIO) seems good short and long term with production starting next year. | princey0
15/9/2005 13:10 | Last year interims were on 26th Nov, however the trading statement released in August 05 ended with the following paragraph " With respect to the second half of the current fiscal year ending 31 March 2006, the board intends to provide an update in October 2005 on a number of new TV productions, the expected level of revenues for the full financial year, and details on investments into terrestrial and broadband TV production operations. As previously stated, the board does not endorse analyst projections and gives guidance through RNS." Interesting comment re analyst projections! Good Luck GS | green sand
