31/1/2006 13:28 | If you are Risk Averse - Look away now. definately not for Widows and Orphans. Interims announced 9th September 2005 THE TALBEX GROUP PLC During the first half the development of the Duddage Farm industrial units were completed and a number of units have now been sold with completion expected shortly on others. At the end of January the Company concluded a Private Placing to raise GBP250,755 before expenses and at the end of May the Company completed its first acquisition when it purchased Creedgrove Limited, a company that specialises in refurbishment projects within the leisure industry. It has a strong order book and is expected to achieve budgeted profits for the year. The Company is presently negotiating with several other companies and hopes to be able to announce a further acquisition very shortly. The loss for the period was GBP41,996 (2004:GBP7,000) which reflects the additional overheads incurred in developing new trading activities since the beginning of the year. We anticipate being able to report a modest profit in the second half. Followed by the Acquisition of Stalleon Control Systems Limited on 14th October 2005. The Directors are pleased to announce that the Company has completed the acquisition of Stalleon Control Systems Limited ("SCS") and its associate company, Stalleon Services Limited ("SSL") for an initial cash consideration of *25,000 together with the issue of 500,000 new ordinary shares of 1p each at 2p per share and deferred consideration of up to *160,000 dependent upon certain targets. The Stalleon Group, based in West Kingsdown, Kent was founded in 1985 by Michael Errington who has entered into a service agreement and shall continue as Managing Director of both companies. SCS specialises in the provision of fire detection and alarm systems, emergency lighting systems, CCTV, plant monitoring and data collection systems, access control systems and associated services whilst SSL provides on-site maintenance. Clients include major banks, the Ministry of Defence, NHS Trusts, Local Authorities, various Shopping Centres, and a number of projects having been undertaken throughout Europe. The combined net assets of the Stalleon Group at 31 December 2004 was *66,513. In the 17 month period ended 31 December 2004 SCS recorded a loss after tax of *26,596 whilst SSL recorded a profit of *7,929 for the same period. Although SCS has recorded further losses in the first half of 2005 the company has now stabilised and has won a number of major contracts that are due to commence shortly. Talbex intends to strengthen the Balance Sheet by providing additional working capital. The intention is to relocate the offices of Creedgrove Limited to Stalleon House, a freehold property owned by SCS, so that both companies can share reduced overheads and administrative staff whilst being able to achieve a degree of cross selling of services. David Billings, Chairman, said "I am very pleased to welcome Stalleon Controls and Stalleon Services to the Group. The expected relocation of Creedgrove to West Kingsdown will enable both sets of companies to achieve savings to their existing cost base and help provide an additional range of services to each other's clientele. Mike Errington and the Stalleon companies have an excellent name within the industry and we look forward to being able to assist in expanding the Group to other parts of the country." Talbex has just over 51 Million shares in issue as of 31st January 2006 Finals due in May, with Talbex Group likely to move into profit. Current Market Cap £0.87 Million Plenty of Potential Upside, long term Warning - Extremely Illiquid, only suitable for experienced investors, with at least a one year investment horizon - Ofex Quote | longtech

15/12/2005 12:34 | Hi, Does anybody have access to the Panmure Gordon upgrade research yesterday? Does anybody have an opinion as to the impact of their Live 8 production in the summer. Might have this have provided a significant once off boost to recent results?? Slowtrain | slowtrain11
15/12/2005 00:11 | I agree that the statements are written too cautiously. Though to me "Looking at the wider picture across the group, trading is favourable and the market is expanding. But whilst the results for the six months to 31 March 2006 could see profits growth, the rate of growth will not be as radical as we have just seen." still means that they exepct profits to continue growing but not by such a huge %. Last net profit increase was over 2000%, no one would expect that again. They almost seem to be talking thr company down. | encarter
14/12/2005 07:53 | I think that part of the problem includes a lack of forward visibility of earnings. We know that H2 will be quiet but how quiet ? The wording of the statement suggests that TAl will be happy to break even for H2. I find that the statements are written extremely cautiously as if to protect the company from any down side. If we look forward to H1 next year we are also in the mist when it comes to looking for earnings. A hard company to peg down. Perhaps the best strategy would be to buy at the end of H2 and sell at the end of H1 ? | liarspoker
13/12/2005 23:04 | Would have been a 5 bagger in the 1 1/2 years just gone. Seems a seasonal business with a strong H1 ( just gone ) and a weaker H2. But have a look at this; EPS: Last results 1.46p Finals 1.81p Previous Interims 0.06p These last Interims were so strong that the company has to do little to beat last year Finals. Some with Revenue and EBITDA - you have to wonder........ Does anyone have any broker notes etc ?? | liarspoker
13/12/2005 22:58 | Not sure but lots of gossip around though nothing concrete. Making a nice profit and a bucket full of cash. Watch this space. | encarter
13/12/2005 22:40 | Hmmm - change of auditor in October 2005, anyone know why ?? PR company is Binns. Binns used to be IBG's PR company but complained about getting a hard time from the IBG investors ( ie: the investors on ADVFN ). Binns was eventually QUIETLY replaced by IBG's current PR company. | liarspoker
13/12/2005 22:33 | IBG have a stake in this. Looking at the results this may well go higher imo. DYOR etc. | liarspoker

12/12/2005 09:53 | From the Independent: The Independent COLLINS SIGN-UP COULD HERALD MEGA-MERGER AT TEN ALPS Ten Alps, the television production company whose board members include Sir Bob Geldof and Brian Walden, has signed up house broker Collins Stewart to act as its cheerleader in the City. Shares in the company have been struggling this year, but it has managed to gain an 84 percent rise in interim revenues, due in part to the success of recent programme commissions. The company is valued at around 22 million pounds and has completed five small cash acquisitions in the last four years. Some analysts suggest that the hiring of Collins Stewart could bring about a drive to improve the share price, as a prelude to an eventual merger deal. | sivadnoj |
