08/9/2016 19:22 | This has been building up for a break out for weeks - hopefully will pull away from this area of consolidation | davr0s
08/9/2016 15:59 | I was hoping this would fall again before it rose to give me a chance to buy more...! | hopeful holder
08/9/2016 15:51 | Let's hope we can hold this level, then see it start a new range. Been at these levels for ages. Nice divi and all that but I could chuck some money in an income fund if I want 4% return.GLA | cheaky monkey
06/9/2016 19:16 | Thought this was interesting BritishBulls.com says ......Signal Update Our system's recommendation today is to BUY. The pattern finally received a confirmation because the prices crossed above the Stop Loss level which was at 1,071.00, and our valid average buying price stands now at 1,075.72. The previous SELL signal was issued on 16/08/2016, 21 days ago, when the stock price was 1,041.00. Since then TEP.L has risen by +3.33%.Market Outlook A rally after a bear setup can occasionally turn into an explosive long trade. We may be on the verge of catching one of them. There is now a strong positive sentiment in the market despite the absence of a bullish pattern. The bullish stop loss is finally confirmed and a BUY signal is generated. Market wants to reward the bulls. It may be now the right time to be part of this boost and bullish market sentiment by joining the growing bullish crowd. more... | 2bluelynn

28/8/2016 20:37 | Raymund, thanks for that, I just thought it would have it's own name. Had the yearly discount before they changed it to monthly but they missed me off at first, just wondered if I was missing it again. | stirkjames
28/8/2016 20:10 | stirkjames, that is a problem for energy supply since TEP don't explicitly state on bills that the rate is 10% below standard rate; however, I did check once with another customer (not a shareholder) and at the time mine was indeed 10% less. However, it is not a problem for non energy since the 10% discount accrues and is given at end of year which can mean nearly a free month for December. I must ask TEP to give us confirmation on the bills that energy rates are discounted by 10%. You probably know that TEP only give the energy shareholder discount on their variable rates and not on fixed rates. | raymund
28/8/2016 19:14 | Raymund, I'm a shareholder and claiming a discount, how do you know you are getting it, my bill is under the name of value. Is that the name for shareholders discount, can't find anything on the company website. | stirkjames
28/8/2016 13:54 | Taking four services as a customer I get a good deal which gets even better as I am also a shareholder (minimum 1,500 shares) which gives me an extra 10% off everything! Lucy was particularly helpful in setting up my shareholder discount since I hold shares in an ISA and she accepted evidence of beneficial ownership with copy of my share purchase contract. | raymund
27/8/2016 21:39 | By reading the above post and to share my view (shareholder but not customer).I've stated before the people on the ground were lovely that I met and were certainly not pushy. The offering got better and more discounts / cheaper the more services you took.Comparing standalone v standalone then I agree, prices were not great. But add in the offers, especially the one replacing all lights in the house for led bulbs, then suddenly the offer as a package becomes more appealing and competitive.Customer services, I've not contacted them so nothing to counter, but I think had I received that poor level/ bad attitude, I would have made a complaint.Best of luck going forwards. | hopeful holder
26/8/2016 10:39 | No Position Hi,thought I would feed back my recent dealings with Utility Warehouse for info and maybe anyone here who communicates with the Company can use it Recently relocated to Bolton from Lincs. Letter on the doormat informing us we had gas and electric supplied from TUW. Lots pamphlets explaining other services and how cost effective and what great customer service they had. Nothing I could find actually told me how much I would be paying. Phoned them on a weekend. Immediatley met with sales explaining their other services rather than the reason why I was calling. Staff could still not tell me how much I would be paying so gave my details so they could register me to access my on line account. Was told someone would contact me (by mail?) to confirm cost of their G &E. One member of staff came over as being miserable and bored. Tried to access my account a few days later online. Would not let me register. Phoned them again. Previous phone call had not been actioned. They apologised and set it up again, with sales pitch of other services. Costs were given. On line search immediately found npower were at least 20% cheaper for E&G on both unit charge and standing charge. Transferred to npower. Closing statements arrived from TUW last week. The Gas and Electric were both printed on the relevant wrong letter e.g. gas on electric so confusing. Lots sales pamphlets etc. Electric is about 20% cheaper overall with npower, Gas is an amazing 40% cheaper on the unit charge, 20% on standing charge. IMO there are no cost savings for me to use TUW even if I took out all offerings and services. Far from impressed, customer service below average at best. Hope of some use PJ | pj 1
25/8/2016 13:37 | iwilllosemyshirt you have the wrong thread, this one is for TEP | raymund
18/8/2016 09:53 | Thanks for the reply deej4y. I know IMSs became optional a couple of years ago but most companies at least give some sort of statement at the AGM and TEP did last year so I thought it was a bit odd. | gleach23
18/8/2016 08:59 | Looking closer at the Opus holding. TEP has 20% of the shares which are in the Balance Sheet at £11.6 million , which is way below the real value. Last year TEPs share was £5.6M down from £6.0M the previous year , but they say they are expecting a strong result in the current year. Results are bound to fluctuate with energy prices and the drop was attributed to withdrawal of Government subsidies . So it looks realistic to expect at least £5.6M this year. The £5.6M contribution suggests that the TEP holding may be worth 12/15 times that amount , or £67M to £84M against the current valuation in TEP books of 11.6M. So it would be a significant boost to their cash position and maybe even a special dividend. Please DYOR GAN | ganthorpe
18/8/2016 08:40 | Interesting RNS today re Opus Energy - part owned by TEP and having a "strategic Review". This often means Opus are thinking of selling or have had an approach to sell. TEP say they are not intending to increase their holding , which sounds like a broad hint that they would be willing to sell. Could be a nice gain for TEP GAN | ganthorpe
17/8/2016 10:33 | Not currently a holder here but does anyone know why there wasn't a trading statement from the AGM this year? | gleach23
13/8/2016 14:47 | Have been with TEP over 15 years now and recommended to many. Customer Service is second to none. | droid
13/8/2016 12:45 | Thank you folks for the feedback / debate. I've got the shares level required so I will try again and see what that brings up.Cheers. HH | hopeful holder
13/8/2016 07:50 | Re stacking up price wise , utilitywarehouse are never going to be the cheapest once you exclude CASHBACK there will always be offers out there if you take the time to scam all the introductary offers and risk your business with a new entrant , having been a rep for years it's very rare I see someone who introductary offer hasn't expired on one thing or another and if it's happened on the day I see them then it's going to happen to them again at some point in the future as well people live busy lives but as shareholders we belong to a group that are financially aware and are used to checking out financial affairs in one way or another on a daily basis ( we are more likly to listen to the news once a day read a paper discuss affairs with our mates once a week and maybe check the market twice or more per week lets face it we are not average in the main did I check my gas bill in the last 6 months err no I have far more important things to do with my time do I compare the cost of a loaf of bread with lidle or Aldi when I nip into Waitrose to pick up my warm croissants and free coffee on a Sunday morning err no , as with all companies they have a sector of the market for which everything is perfect for and if I had to put a % on UW it would be a high one based on 60% of people haven't swaped THIER energy suppliers in the last ten years | bigbob6
12/8/2016 20:36 | Raymund, how can you tell if you are getting the 10% discount. I applied as I was on the old discount, they were a bit abrupt with me and said I was on it but how do I know. I've looked on all the TEP websites and can't find any information and nothing on my bills saying i'm getting it. | stirkjames
12/8/2016 18:26 | Hopeful Holder, Are you aware of shareholder discount of 10% off all bills, well worth taking if you are prepared to invest in the minimum 1,500 shares. Also available if you hold in ISA, simple procedure to verufy beneficial ownership. Good luck! | raymund |
