20/1/2022 16:08 | I buy men's clothing from TED because I am a man :) | toffeeman
20/1/2022 11:49 | knowbodyyouno - agreed I think the YouGov survey as to brand strength is not to be underestimated. Whenever I speak to a store manager, or a floor manager in a department store, they say Ted Baker is always popular. Whenever I speak to a female friend about their preferences, they always say they like Ted Baker. I think there is an element of people on threads like this often being male - I have no data to support this but it seems possible that Ted is mostly about female shopping and taste and the stock market mostly has male participants. I can see why women like the products... I mean why wouldn't they really. They are well designed, well made and have a brand label on them that has good heritage. There is a massive opportunity for Ted to grow sales internationally. They just need to get over this period of fear, and then leverage their new systems and old heritage together. Could be a massive success in the coming years. | aringadingding

15/11/2021 09:54 | Actually answer to my own question here: At around minute 7.41 in this video is a slide which clearly states the key upgrade is bringing forwards in time the point at which they expect to have a net cash positive position to end-FY 2022 i.e. end-Jan 2022. I guess the original plan was to be in a net debt position at that point in time but now they are essentially saying they don't need to do that. hxxps://www.research Interesting to hear the FD characterise the results as a turning point and a return to growth while CEO sounds a more cautious note. Essentially the trading is well up from the pandemic lows 1 year ago but sill below the year before that. | aringadingding
15/11/2021 09:28 | I think there are two 'big pictures' here, a short term and a long term one. In the short term the question is whether they have raised enough equity to get to cash flow positive and deliver their turnaround plan. The management was very clear in the release that they are ahead of plan with respect to the turnaround and cash management. This is very positive because it means they should not go bust or require further equity fundraising. In the long term, which is of course also important, the question is whether people will keep buying their stuff and whether management can grow the business into product lines and geographies of strong demand. I am very encouraged indeed by the yougov survey result. We all have our personal preferences but you can't really argue with a result like that I don't think. So the customers like it, there is strong demand, there are clear reasons for sales being lower than 3 yrs ago (the reduced footfall in airports and similar), so overall I feel good about this stock. A question though, when they say "its target to achieve a net cash position" what does that mean? Below I have pasted the 'financial implications' section of the June 2020 prospectus, which does not tell us what it means. I don't think it can mean 'net cash balance +ve' as they have that today. It could mean either 'achieve a specific balance by a certain date' or 'achieve net cash flow positive in a particular financial year'. I suspect it's the latter because if it was the former they ought to say what balance they are referring to. "Financial Implications The Directors believe the successful implementation of this ‘Ted’s Formula for Growth’ strategy should result in a more profitable business, operating on a lower level of capital employed. Improved product margin, lower operating expenses and prioritisation of capital expenditure-light distribution should all contribute to driving greater return on capital employed and ultimately greater shareholder value. At the end of this initial three-year journey, Directors are targeting the following financial metrics: • Limit capital expenditure to £15 million annually; • Medium-term revenue growth of approximately 5 per cent.; • Adjusted EBITDA margin of 7.0 per cent. to 10 per cent. by the 2023 financial year; • Free cash flow generation, after capex, of at least £30 million by the 2023 financial year; and • Net debt to Adjusted EBITDA of 1.0x or less by the end of the 2023 financial year. These targets are not intended as a profit forecast and no statement in this document should be interpreted to mean that earnings per Share for the current or future financial years would necessarily match or exceed the historical published earnings per Share" | aringadingding

11/11/2021 13:15 | Sold all mine into the rise for 142, i am no expert on accounts but they sounded like glossed over, was shocked that we had the mini bounce and the opportunity to sell. Still a good company but needs time i will be back........... WJ. | w1ndjammer
11/11/2021 10:58 | It can't get through those key marks highlighted above. There are still too many sellers sat there preventing any pop higher. The report looks slightly better than the market was expecting, but it's hardly nice reading. Going forward, it appears that the recovery is on EXCEPT there is no guidance EXCEPT they are comfortable with market consensus. Seen as that is all nice and clear, perhaps it is no surprise the price hasn't moved a great deal. Still watching for any further significant exchanges here that could allow a breakout higher for a quick opportunity, but nothing erm...material (look, these things happen ok, get on with your lives :-)), at the moment. All imo DYOR | sphere25
