20/12/2018 14:37 | I would imagine that Taylor Wimpey has its 13% 2019 dividend or 600 million quid ready in the bank with a few months of the 2020 dividend to spare. It certainly did on the 2017 accounts. Would seem more prudent to save the cash to smooth dividends beyond 2019, rather than splurging their position as number one most solvent company in the FTSE 100 by ripping up shares. | stewart64
20/12/2018 14:29 | There’s no long term shorters in Wimps, but the Algo’s will be pulling the shares around on a daily basis. As GBH points out, there are well over 3 billion shares issued, so plenty to go at in a deep and liquid market like Wimps. | disneydonald
20/12/2018 14:15 | So many shares in TW that it's easy for them to work beneath the 0.5% required to make an announcement. | gbh2
20/12/2018 11:04 | I see no short positions over 0.5% of total shares. | m4rtinu
20/12/2018 09:50 | Taylor Wimpey plc announces that a circular (the "Circular"), convening a General Meeting at 9:00 am on 28 December 2018, to consider a general authority to make market purchases of the Company's ordinary shares (the "Resolution"), has today been sent to shareholders. So not many trading days to go. Hope you are in, as could mean a 10% buyback scheme in the new year. Shorters to all but close by xams last day trade. £1.50 target in short term trading in Jan 2019 | blueteam
20/12/2018 09:43 | I am hoping that the younger MPs on both sides can drag us into this century. The current profile of Parliament is far too old and far too male. And probably far too "a lot of other things" including dishonest or at least disingenuous. The Lords: for the most part a symbol of British cronyism. | m4rtinu
20/12/2018 08:45 | They should close down the House of Lords and reduce the number of MP's by about 75%. Sell of the Houses of Parliament to Dr Evil for trillions of pounds and move the remaining bunch to a warehouse near Milton Keynes. It's time for a revolution we are not in the sixteenth century any more :-) | tlobs2

19/12/2018 22:43 | May I introduce a new leader....Welcome... | steeplejack
19/12/2018 21:50 | TM should never have been allowed to become PM. The Conservative leadership ballot was at a time when the country was set to be leaving the EU. TM was a remainer. She went against her principles in doing so, to become PM. She'll get nothing more than what she deserves based on that - in the meantime, the shambles continues and the UK must look decidedly weaker to the global audience as a result. Is this really the best on offer...!? If I were to ever have the need to reply to any correspondence from Mrs May, my reply would be something along the lines of.... 'Actually Love, Hugh Grant would make a better success of Brexit!' :)) | wfl1970
19/12/2018 21:00 | 'Parliament has indeed become a pantomime...' Oh no it hasn't!!! Someone had to...Well, it is the season! ;)) | wfl1970
19/12/2018 19:19 | If Corbyn had simply admitted that he'd called May a stupid woman and apologise unreservedly,he would have been applauded.Applauded as much for the accuracy of the comment as for having the balls to admit it.Neither leaders have gravitas.Parliament has indeed become a pantomime .As they mull over banning children from having mobiles in the classroom,I note that MPs have no hesitation in browsing on their phones as their fellows make speeches of apparent merit. Most of what passes in the House is nothing but cant and waffle. | steeplejack

19/12/2018 17:29 | Firstly, it looks pretty clear to me that JC said "stupid woman"(whether audible or not). What makes me annoyed, as a Labour supporter, is it turns the focus away from the really serious issue. That she is cynically and recklessly wasting time. And to agree with others above, but probably for different reasons, she is worse than stupid. I guess the real objection is the use of the word "woman" in conjunction with "stupid". She (TM) lacks integrity and I don't trust anything she says. She sometimes makes false promises to her own side. Unless it is written down and put before Parliament, I wouldn't take anything she says at face value. And of course, JC, if he has denied saying it, is also untruthful. | m4rtinu
19/12/2018 16:37 | Theresa May is a stupid woman. her WA is ample evidence of that,as is her continued effort to push us into such a disastrous WA despite it being clear she wont get enough votes in the house. Definition of stupidity... | wbecki
19/12/2018 16:22 | He is clearly untrustworthy. He hasn't even got the balls to own up when its clear from the video evidence that he did say it. What an eejit. | tlobs2
19/12/2018 16:01 | Corbyn has come back to Commons and still denied it. I challenge anyone to look at the footage and say that it wasn't woman. I think the general public will form an opinion on this and see him for what he is. | omg48
19/12/2018 15:34 | With a decent leader Labour could do quite well in a general election. As it currently stands they are unelectable with Corbyn and Abbott at the helm. They have had some really dopey leaders since Harold Wilson :-) | tlobs2
19/12/2018 15:23 | you dont have to be lip reader to acknowledge that a 'w' has a different lip movement to a 'p'. He clearly says woman but he is still denying it. The speaker of the House had a very bad day also for not bringing JC back to Commons. Very weak and biased. | omg48 |
