Volatile markets affecting majority of shares -good job we are not in Indonesia which is down 21% in a week.

Plenty of good news on housing in UK a lot factored in -but should see some strength return to SP,s in a few months time holding BDev & TW

Once it reaches 14000 completions how does it intend to return any cash ,as a special dividend or share buyback .Also hope inflation does not become rampant again as it did previously.

Top stocks as Britain's prospects brighten Times

Taylor Wimpey gets the thumbs up because it is a prime beneficiary of the upturn in the UK housing market.

James Griffin, manager of the Fidelity Moneybuilder Growth fund, says that the builder operates across the UK and enjoys the advantage of strong barriers to entry into its market because of the amount and complexity of the land that it develops.

He says: "It is focused on maximising shareholder value over the long term, as opposed to chasing growth.

"This means that once it reaches its optimal level of 14,000 completions a year it will return excess cash to shareholders.

"The stock has done well recently, but we still believe that there is good upside potential, particularly if we see a return of house price inflation."

Nice one hillbrown. My spread betting was showing a healthy loss sadly, so more leverage wasn't the order of the day though! Happy to keep topping up when opportunities present themselves though :)
