%95 of my holding is pure profit so this move does not concern. I'd like to see this smash down to 25p so l can load up again :)

Short answer, nope, I can't. Hence why I have bought some.

Longer answer could include

- sector rotation (that's what funds do - why? answers on a postcard...) out of cyclical sector like this and into defensives (utilities, supermarkets)
- Euro elections - likely credit crunch when Germans and French disagree on fiscal pact, throw in Greece elections and you have a lot of uncertainty;
- Sell in May syndrome;
- blind panic.

None of the above are TW. specific, so I'm happy to take the risk, and I also don't believe they will affect the UK housing market (which is all that TW does these days, the spanish runt apart) as much as some do.

It hurts when you're already fully invested in something that heads sharply down, as you cannot benefit from it - but believe me, some of us have had that pain with TW. before and have paid our dues. Whenever you think it can't go any lower, it duly does...

Can someone enlighten me as to why TW have fallen over 15% in the last few days, Can't seem to find any anouncements by TW that would adversely affect the share price, Although I did here a building society say that house sales were down in April & up in March, I wonder how much someone got paid to research that, I am no expert (although I have been in the building trade for over thirty years) But surely it does not take rocket science to work out that we had the hottest March on record & we all know that sun brings out the feel good factor in all of us, Therefore if you have the wettest april on record people are not going to by houses & I can't see why europe would have any effect either as most of the houses are built in britain.IMHO This is looking very oversold TW are a good solid company With good long term prospects, there is going to be some conslidation in the construction industry in the forseable future & it would not suprise me to see a takeover for TW. & possibly from outside the uk.

imatsu, your comment (somebody must have sold a lot) 10808, i did wonder on days with greater sell volume than buys if it was being held in a tight 50p ish range for a big client to reduce and now it must correct but rest of sector looking just as sick.
I bought back a tranche at 45p this morning that i sold outside the Isa at 50p so at least ive had a result with the bed and Isa that ive lumbered myself with whilst stupidly buying my original amount in a normal account. Its taken 3years worth of ctg allowance so far.
Still a few more to go i think ill wait now as 40p doesn't seem too distant .Then ill wish i had got the lot at the lower price.

There's a very small gap at 37.5 from 6Th Jan to 9Th Jan

I see it in 10808 above. Still dithering about buying a tranche...

I do agree, movements like that should not be normal and accepted as if it's all par for the course - but what can you do? Just assess a current price, is it good value, consider past experience and take a view on what to do.

It's a sector thing over the past few days though, obviously:

Wow look at all your posts....every one simply accepts that the share price can just give up 20%..25%..for no particular reason..because this is how the "market" has become....this is now the norm...
There is no market any more..there is no logic in it..it is uninvestable.

I think we will go back to where it broke out of it's previous resistance which was 40p. (now support) If 45p doesn't hold.

Bara - The share behaves in strange ways, I was a holder for over 2 years watched it hit the 43/44 level 3 times and drop back to high 20's and low 30's.

I think realistically we may see the low 40's again say around 42-43p level but if the market turns for the worse then mid 30's a possibility.

This is just my opinion.

I think we may see the low 40s and then I will be looking to get back in... market tanks and we may get another op around mid to high 30's. remember it went from 44p to 24p last year so 34p is a possibility.

There's a very small gap at 37.5 from 6Th Jan to 9Th Jan and for the next trading day too, and TW seems to close all its gaps eventually. This observation will no doubt rattle a few feathers but it looks likely to close if euro news continues to be gloomy.
If i were looking to get in i would stagger my purchases, there's nothing like catching a low.ATB
