03/8/2012 10:37 | Yes, terribly weak... ;-) Back to the pool, this does a lot better when I'm not around to disturb things... | ![]() imastu pidgitaswell
02/8/2012 08:58 | Shaws - imo since the introduction of AT trading TA only works well on ftse100 companies, to which end I tend only use TA & charts on those companies too. For me the story with TW is the recovery of the housing market and government intervention in regenerating cash flow, imo the pressure will build towards end of 2012 for the government to take some decisive action and I'm hoping TW will benefit greatly from such action. Call it speculation but this is a circuit we've been around for the last 60 years. PS Agree share price is likely to show weakness until Sept kicks in. | ![]() gbh2
02/8/2012 08:39 | gbh2 It's trying to work out what the market is thinking as it follows TA much of the time when it comes to tee dubs - imho. I still think august will be a weak month and a pull back. BDEV is pulling back at the moment, tee dubs usually follows. All in all, TW is a fantastic company going from strength to strength. :) | shaws37
02/8/2012 08:34 | It makes sense if you're a believer, its not my thing but will check it out as we progress and see if it has value :)) | ![]() gbh2
02/8/2012 08:23 | Not sure if we are on Wave 4 ( D ) but wave 4 (D) cannot be higher than wave B. If it does than we are now on Wave 1 as wave E then completed on 31st July. If that make sense :) | shaws37

01/8/2012 11:21 | Last updated at 9:28AM, August 1 2012 Times Four years ago Taylor Wimpey was teetering on the brink of collapse, but today it reported a doubling of half-year profits and confirmed expectations for the full year. Driven by an 8 per cent increase in home completions and a 5 per cent rise in average selling prices, Taylor Wimpey's UK revenues rose 11.6 per cent to £903.3 million in the six months to July 1, while group profits more than doubled to £78.2 million. The company and its rivals Barratt Developments and Persimmon are benefiting from a lack of available new homes and government schemes to spur the market, which have shored up demand despite a tough economic outlook and flagging consumer sentiment. Pete Redfern, chief executive said: "Although wider economic conditions remain uncertain, we have been reassured by the continued stability in trading conditions and the strength of our order book." Taylor Wimpey completed 5,083 homes in the first half, up from 4,707 in the same period last year, with the overall average selling prices of the completions rising to £176,000 from £168,000. Its order book grew 18 per cent to £688 million. In a further sign of its recovery, the company also declared an interim dividend of 0.19p per share, versus none in the same period last year. The company had recommenced dividends in February with a 0.38p per share final dividend, its first payout since 2007. Taylor Wimpey completed the final stage of its financial overhaul last summer when it sold its North American division, leaving it to focus on a UK business that sold 5,083 homes at an average price of £176,000 in the first six months of 2012. The recovery in its trading performance was highlighted today in its UK operating margin, which increased to 11.4 per cent from 8.4 per cent a year earlier. In a further sign of its recovery, the company also declared an interim dividend of 0.19p per share | valedo

01/8/2012 09:54 | shaws - I was watching that chart too - wondering where the '5th' (or 'E') would finish. That seems as good a shout as any. The other builders will be reporting similar progress over the next couple of weeks, so planning to hold until we get to high 40s. If not, so be it, I'll wait a little longer. | ![]() imastu pidgitaswell
01/8/2012 08:23 | The economy is only going to recover when the housing market starts to recover, so imo that's what the government will throw cash at when they want to be voted back in! | ![]() gbh2
01/8/2012 08:21 | yes, it's ballax - home builders can drop the price a tad in the bad weather when their land cost has plummeted and margins up by miles. 1.5p eps today - that's 1.1p eps up on last year. They did 2.1p eps last year so already on a run rate of 3.2p eps for this year if they have a flat H2 ! 3.2p is the forecast for the year, looks like they could do 4p+ eps at that rate to me imo. imo/dyor.
