It's clear there's not going to be much movement in this industry until next year or even into 2012 so industry consolidation would make sense, bring it on :)

TW may take over BDEV. Stranger things have happened - such as this........>

Some of these companies may have to merge rather than face possible collapse. Too many house builders chasing a diminishing market.I have shares in TW and will just have to hold on for a a year or two in the hope they will eventually recover.

I would add that the if those lower targets sound ludicrous, just bear in mind when Sandy Chen predicted 50p for Barcs when Barcs was sitting at £4 odd. (edit: back in 08)

Looks like someone at Investec wants to buy into housebuilders then.

shaws37, I disagree, tw. has worked near perfect on Point & figure charting for nigh on 6 months. In fact it was so accurate on 1/5/10/15 min x 3 box reversal frames ,that I rattled off my long positions and have reversed them targeting the p&f targets on the daily charts , which range from 16.75 down to 11p . As long as targets continue to get hit and dont reverse there is no reason to trade against them. Bdev is targeted at 62p !

Totally against my sentiment towards housebuilders as I have been a perma bull, but switching tack has already proved lucrative and beats staring at the screen wondering when the fkers gonna rise. Go with the flow!

J-J, It will more than likely go down, i honestly don't think this share works on any TA atm. I do think it will see 20p and a quick dip below it - but, i hope not and that im completely wrong.

Market cap of 700m, debt of 600m. When you look at it that way it's a worry or is it just me who worries perhaps. :(

shaws hope your chart is correct, mine still show's a small gap on the daily..

I still think it will drop a bit more before the results, may be wrong but have set aside some funds just in case...

But housebuilders were not having such a buoyant day after Alastair Stewart, an analyst at Investec, downgraded all his target prices for the mainstream housebuilders to reflect what he sees as "the serious risk of a double dip in house prices and land values". He added: "This has been prompted by gathering evidence over recent weeks that the housing market has ground to a standstill, crystallised by Bellway's negative commentary on the market at its full-year results."

Taylor Wimpey shed 0.99 to 23.13p after being cut to "hold" from "buy" with a new target price of 25p; and Barratt Developments slid 3.3 to 80.2p after it was slashed from "buy" to "sell", with a new target price of 72p.
