farmer boy, if we had not got the dept we would all have been unemployed, only covud to blame for that, where do you get your 25% from, oh yes thin air lol, There are know official figure to refer to!
25 guil, patients is a virtue, I had shares that did nothing for years & then rocketed, its just a waiting game. Retail has been in decline for years, M & S have never moved with the times & why pay £40.00 for jeans when you can go to Asda & get them for less than a tenner, you can get a whole outfit for a tenner in Primark! as for tech stocks I kept well away from those, I like companies that make things!

Utter nonsense. I lost six figure sums in the aftermath of the dotcom boom. Shall I pretend that the Vodafone shares I bought in 1999 are still worth 350p. No, they're worth whatever the market will pay, currently around 125p. If someone told you their M&S shares were worth 600p, you'd think they were crazy. If you paid more than today's price, you're out of pocket. This isn't a difficult concept.

You missed the point again Jugs, I did not say they would have crashed 25% they just would not have risen the last 25%. And what have you got to say about the level of dept the conservatives are saddeling the country with. You will also find affordability will eventualy win over availability, you can already see that in the grocery sector.

ST,

I would add
Rising number of homeowners in severe mortgage debt given govn support ended.
Rising repossessions.

Rising energy price cap in Oct to around £3k a year.
Rising taxes
Rising prices
10-12% interest rate for those with Help to Buy loans which ended 5+yrs ago.
7%+ interest for graduates with loans.

etc
etc

St, my overall wealth has increased every year bar one for the last 40 years, on average it increases 10% per year ,I am sure many on here COULD do better but I am very happy with that, You don't looses money on shares if you don't sell, but you do if you sell at wrong time! I have never been one to panic, you need a very level head when you invest, I have got one, perhaps now I have a few hours spare each week I should put my name down for the PM's Job.

Can I just say to all on this board that panicking & stressing about things until they happen is not good for your health & well being, life is far to short to spend time worrying about events that only might happen, I know several people that have gone home sat in the chair & dropped down dead, 2 of theses were in there 30's, you never know when your time is up, live for today because you might not be here tomorrow, some of you may be reliant on the income from investing but I only do it for fun & can comfortably afford to do it, if I loose a million (not that I have ever lost money on shares apart from 2) then that's my fault its only money, I can't take it with me & it certainly doesn't guarantee my health health so its not worth worrying about, If you hold shares here & they drop, they will rise again, you might have to wait but that's what long term investing is, a waiting game, Have a good weekend, I'm sitting in my lovely garden looking out on to rolling countryside having a beer or two, what could be better to finish the week off!

You did state that TW, will have 500 more lows which at 0.25 lower each day equals £1.25 and they haven’t had consecutive lows since your statement, do the maths, poor chap, you consistently make mistakes and consistently spout BS.

You are an idiot with Zero Credibility, lol, just lol!

Banks are going to play smart with those borrowers...they will want to lock them in at higher rates...notice big banks are not increasing rates for savers...

Am I the only one who thinks unemployement is going to rise as businesses fail due to costs increases and lower demand for goods and services?

Also, I personally know people worried about their large mortgages coming to the end of their fixed deals early next year. Some have said they will be paying more than double the interest rate they are currently on.
