ghh,
"I'm intrigued why MS are so out of kilter."

You have to be naive to base your research solely on brokers. It's an analysts' opinion. Brokers are like sheep, they will follow each other eventually...

My timber costs alone have increased 125% since the start of covid, but we are still working flat out! prices are stabilising now though & in a lot of cases coming down. IMO we have seen building materials prices peak.

Just been in my local pie shop and had a chat with a boss of a large company that runs a pumped screed company .

His very words

My costs and prices have gone up 38% this year to date.

It has not helped us at all and will kill the industry.

Agreed Boris is awful.

We need another Margaret Thatcher to see us through the tough times ahead.

Boris the best in last 50 years? You seriously think that? I think he's definitely one of the very worst and he can't hold a candle to Thatcher.

Other recent broker updates, all within last 4 weeks:

Investec Buy, PT 186p
Jefferies Buy, PT 153p
Berenberg Buy, 220p
Morningstar Buy, 190p
Credit Suisse, Outperform, 210p
Davy Outperform, No PT
Peel Hunt, Buy 180p

I'm intrigued why MS are so out of kilter. Directors recently bought c. 70K and Vistry expecting further margin progress in the FY with PBT at top end of market.

Do calm down

Stress is self inflicted and can make you more poorly when added to angst

In the Isle of Wight the number of properties is rising yet again to 1013

And properties coming to market are now being listed at less than they were sold for in 2007 --- FACT

I would like to know what part of the country houses fell 40% peak to trough sikh ? that would make a £200k house fall to £120k that just didnt happen I have researched this the Last few days & max it was 15% across the midlands & south so where do you get those figures from I sold a house in 2008 for 190k when prices fell the lowest this went was 174k that's not 40%!

Buy badly I:have a lot of shares here overall my holding is still substantially in profit if they go up I make money if they go down I will buy more & make even more money so your point is ? When these eventually are worth more than £3 & I assure you they will be one day, will you & your chums still be around to see it, I doubt very much. Let's look at the stark reallity here, why is Tw share price down when nothing has changed, not in debt, not reported badly & so far beating all expectations & defiying every single so called experts & the markets.because we might see house prices fall, interest rates & inflation might continue to rise , I dont want might I want to here that it is or will be, you certainly couldn't run a business on what might happen not if you want to stay ahead of the game Imo it's time the markets had a really check!

Understanding charts helps avoid such angst

What you don't mention is the period...2 weeks, 3 weeks or 4 weeks?...also it all depends on where you stay or what star hotel...3 , 4 or 5 star?...18 years ago things were much cheaper...12k sounds a bit too much...pick a number and expect people to believe that...

B2,

The troll 'Sikhthetech' is totally clueless and no idea of how much holidays cost, I took my family of 4 to Orlando 18 years ago and it cost me £12k, a family of 4 flying to Europe with sporting equipment will cost over £1k for fligts, then the villa with pool for another £3k for two weeks plus at least £2k spending money.

There is no such thing as the average holiday just like there is no such thing as average house prices if 10 houses are 200k & 5 are 1 million pounds that would means the average price would be £466,666 which is a load of bollucks.

Jugears,

Sikhthetech the troll has found the need to back up it's cheap all inclusive holiday for only 10 days and in August £3k for only 10 days, surprise, surprise, that's the school holidays, it really is thick, bless it.

A summer holiday for me is a minimum of 2 weeks in a villa with private pool. I forgot to include the car hire last time, so cost in school hols is £6k minimum, depending on how many nights we ate out, golf days and swimming with Dolphins is expensive now.

My Sons and Daughters friends are all home owners and the family home is top priority and holidays are foregone if any of them are upsizing and two of them are this summer.

All HB's have been in the grip of the bear for over 6 months, imo, this may not last much longer, the news is in the price and currently way oversold.

Plus all the costs not included in your budget tour, have you ever tried to entertain 2 kids for 10 Days? & a bit more than that if you want a proper holiday like Disney land, Australia, New zealand, safari in Africa etc etc,who would want to go to Europe anyway we have only just left the Eu! I can't say that any of my best holidays have been in europe, I think the point is you don't need to miss many holidays before you have saved a good deposit for a house, btw I used to holiday 4 times a year & i'm sure I am not alone.
Just noticed your quoting the express lol that explains all, what you should pay & what you do pay is entirely different, you can pay £500 just to park your car at the airport for 2 weeks depending how busy it is you could have to pay a lot more. It coast me nearly £2k to stay in the lake district in a log cabin for 4 nights last year that' excluding activities/parking/fuel/food/drink.
