Top man Pete Redfern in the times saying 1st time buyers need help, old Boris considering additional help as lenders withdraw offers. Rumour that h mis considering long term fixed rate mortgages with a5% deposit.

Opposition to the idea is strong with the view being promulgated that it will only drive up prices.

IMO both views are correct..but 1st time buyers can’t be expected to pony up 20% deposit its a ridiculous figure.

The fact is most sp's have f all to do with a companies performance, if the mm's decide tw's share price is going to rise it will rise, I can't see one company on the ftse 100 that's share price reflects its true value, there may be some uncertainties around but would like to bet this will be trading back up to £1.70 soon irrespective off whats going on elsewhere, what happens after that in the short term is any ones guess.

"the likes of shell/bp down to a 25yr low."

Yes, I see RDSB are now within the range, 800p-900p, I mentioned last month.
Again HB/Banks/Oils are not immune to uncertain events hitting the market.

Cobourg,

I think you should be ok with those 3 once the economy starts to recover from a recession.

However, I think the markets are going to go lower, so I hope to pick up some around 20p and RDSB around 800p-900p.

Furlough ends at end of Oct and redundancy consultations start 45 days beforehand, so around next week.

Q4 is the interesting qtr with several uncertain events coming together within that qtr.

Jug,

"Well if this is uncertainty it's not looking very likely I will be buying below a pound then."

The prices have ALREADY fallen BECAUSE OF THE uncertain events. The loss is already there. It's really that simple.

At least he's stopped with the muddy sites. I was getting seriously worried about those builders getting their stilletos dirty and downing tools.

I can't see what he's posting because he's been filtered for months but you can safely ignore anything Brick has to say. You only have to look at his input earlier in the year when every day was the forecast of a crash the very next day. It never came and he disappeared into the shadows when the price went back to to 150.Notice how the price has risen 10p or more since he came back? He's our good luck charm! If you needed any more proof, look at his posting history a few years ago on Sound Oil (as it was back then). Ramp, ramp, ramp - billion dollar upside eh Bricky.
