Some research dated Jan 2024. Gives a decent overview of this proposition.

Looks a real bargain after today's NAV, debt and charter rates update. Not sure the market will continue to be able to justify such a huge discount much longer.

I have doubled my stake today.

NAV is about 106p and the dividend is about 6.5p a year so almost 10% yield and massive discount to NAV.

The factsheet is available here:

NAV update and dividend. Sounds pretty good. NAV zoomed up 3.9% over the quarter.

Yes, the former US Dollar, the latter GBP. Need a GBP line to be valid for FTSE. Quite common these days.

First look at these, and wondered are TMI and TMIP the same entity / share with different fx base ?

Being a bit of an expert in this sector (well perhaps not) I've been buying some of these at 66p area. 10% yield and 37% discount. It's not enjoyed any kind of bounce unlike many other high yield alternatives. USFP (solar) another 10% yielder that's still at its lows.

I think this is a real steal at the moment and keep buying. I know the board are working hard on getting the daily blended daily charter breakeven point lower by paying down the debt accrued at the time of the acquisition, and secondly continuing to get economies of scale which are starting to come through. As my biggest investment by far I keep in contact with the company and think we are in good hands with the ceo and board. I am regularly reinvesting the excellent dividend as well as adding to my holding when I can. This is a very young company but with a hugely ambitious CEO and board

With the drop in NAV this leaves TMIP at a c.32% discount.

Thanks. I do have other shares that pay dividends in dollars and there's no issue but it does sound like that's what's causing the delays. No dramas then.

Hi, then the delay is definetly a result of currency conversion as both DEC and TMIP are initially paid in dollars but then for me have to be converted into sterling to be able to go into my isa share account. But I must say I keep looking today as would be nice to get before the weekend ! Sam

Def a tech issue, possibly if payment in sterling a delay in currency conversion. I have some contacts in the company. It is VERY busy and everything is good.

Thanks for the reply. It's a little unnerving when a dividend payment appears to be missed but hopefully there's some boring technical reason why it's a couple of days late every time.

Hi, I have held shares for the same period. Up until April I held them with interactive investor. The dividend was paid on the due date always but I held the shares in dollars. In April I moved the shares to HL so I could hold them in sterling. The first dividend was paid on the due date but not this one. I spoke to other HL investors and they say dividends often go in one or even two days late. As I only have taylors with HL and indeed only asked about Taylors I do not know if it is just Taylors that seem to have this delay. Not sure this helps but others may know something. Sam

Hi, I've been invested in TMI for just over 2 years. Does anyone know why it's the only investment in my portfolio that doesn't actually pay the dividend on the date it says it's going to pay it? I read an explanation, possibly on here about why it doesn't go in to the HL account on the day it's meant (like every other investment I've ever had).

Thanks

Thank you Sam, much appreciated. This is very much my line of thought as well, although I have not had any direct contact with the company.

Hi, I am slightly down more than you . The fallen share price I believe is down to two key reasons. The first is that charter rates have been falling for some time and thus affecting profits .The second is that the market didn't like the debt Taylor's took on for the acquisition of Grindrod. On the former charter rates are now 20 percent off their lows and are continuing to strengthen. Also the rates Taylors have achieved with their rates have been substantially higher than the market. On the second debt since the acquisition has been falling through the disposal of some of the older less efficient ships. This will now hopefully speed up with increasing profits from charter rates.

I have been in touch with the company a couple of times and remain very impressed with the team and especially the CEO. What the market is not acknowledging is that it is a much larger company now of course . As a result of all the above I view this as a major buying opportunity of a young undervalued company and have therefore been regularly investing more and taken the dividends as more shares. Hope this is of use. Sam

Well... this like all my income investments have not gone very well.
Im 20% down in total since I opened my position in April.
However I think the investment case still makes sense so im considering to recycle other moneys in the ISA to buy more of TMIP.
Any views from anyone on how do you see this at the moment?
