Ex divi 6c today. |
Hi, looks interesting. Any issue with receiving the divi if my share dealing account is in sterling? Do I need to submit this form as my share account is in pounds...
The default payment for dividends remains in US Dollar, however, dividends are capable of being paid in sterling, provided that the relevant shareholder has registered to receive their dividend in sterling under the Company's Dividend Currency Election. A copy of the Dividend Currency Election form can be downloaded from the Company's website www.taylormaritimeinvestments.com. Completed Dividend Currency Election forms should be sent to the Company's registrar, Computershare Investor Services (Guernsey) Limited, c/o The Pavilions, Bridgwater Road, Bristol, BS99 6ZY. CREST shareholders must elect via CREST.
Thanks, DM. |
Will there be a secondary placing as some shareholders can only hold shares in funds. |
Yes I stand corrected. Just checked and it is special div of 4c and the normal 2c quarterly div. Wow that is one big dividend. :) |
4 plus 2. results Friday which should give payment date. Think Suez and uncertainty of new administration but fortunately large proportion of days to year end fixed earlier .We have one of the most modern and young fleets and improving performance with them all the time s dont think ships a factor |
More likely change of sector affecting share price? |
I'm guessing the fall is due to the Suez Canal opening up again which will cut shipping rates.
Thought the 4c was the total dividend, 2c special + 2c normal divvy but happy to be proved wrong. |
Trading statement on Friday 4 cent special dividend to come plus 2 cents per quarter so 12 cents in a year. fall a bit worrying environment concerns over old ships? |
Spike up at 230pm with USA interest? |
I am very much in favour of the move. The company will be able to trade in other areas plus the LSE market is very tightly controlled. The announcement of the special dividend, the second since floating, confirms that additional profits will be redistributed. |
One of the attractions of TMI and SHIP is that the second-hand market for ships is pretty transparent and liquid. So if the share price / discount gets out of hand, shareholders can always push for an asset sale + a capital return.
I can see why management frustration at the persistent discount would lead them down this path, but I can't see why shareholders would agree to what ultimately will be more opaque accounting and the removal of the IT requirement to distribute most of its profits to shareholders. |
I was thinking they might throw in the towel and go private, but done the opposite and gone full trading company. Will mean some forced exits by fund only holders, but gives management freedom to sail with freedom - hopefully to our benefit, and not into an iceberg at full speed.
Proposed transfer of listing to the equity shares (commercial companies) category of the Official List
· Following completion of the acquisition of Grindrod Shipping Holdings Ltd ("Grindrod") on 16 August 2024, the Board has concluded that the TMI Group's current and future activities are more reflective of a commercial company as compared to an investment entity.
· The Board therefore recommends that now is the appropriate time for the Company to transfer the listing category of its ordinary shares from the closed-ended investment funds category to the equity shares (commercial companies) category of the Official List.
· The Board is of the opinion that the Proposed Transfer is in the Company's best interests to reflect better the nature of the Company's business model and management, and that the Company should benefit from the greater operational flexibility in the Company's strategy that the Proposed Transfer would afford.
