In sis of the seven locations Prezzo and Wildwoods are very close together. Whilst there are other players in the localaities it should drive trade to Wildwoods(as well as the others)

Not forgetting that input prices are now on a downward trajectory assisting margins.

Seven of the Prezzo restaurants that are closing were competing against Wildwoods.

I am only familiar with one location but in that location which is a tourist destination I would expect a significant increase in the Wildwood footfall.

I will resaerch the other six and ascertain releative locations to each other.

I certainly expect these closures to be revenue accretive for Wildwood.

The headline loss is £6.4m which was greater than the market cap so I agree that doesn't look good.

Howeer the accounts are stuffed full of noncash adjustments and IFRS nonsense so being old fashionned I prefer to focus on cash.

Net cash reduced from £9.8m to £7.0 after the repayment of a £1.25m bank loan.

So an accounting loss of £6.4m translates in to a reduction in cash after loan repayment of £1.55m leaving significant headroom for the company to recover.

The BoD have always run a prudent balance sheet impairing assets where applicable.

So I am confident that this will multibag over my 12/24 month horizon.

"the full year results were not as bad as the figures indicate"

Err.., so how bad were they then?

I long thought this would go under or be taken private by management but as Asagi says above the full year results were not as bad as the figures indicate.

Since the results I have purchased a few and see this five or ten bagging over a two year timeline.

Head winds are receding and profitability will return.

H1s were out yesterday:

tone is v. downbeat.

Revenues ahead of the first 6m of 2019. Seems like expansion plans may have been curtailed?

Good news with regards cost of energy for business being capped through the winter. That will certainly make things better for the business.

Debt free, cash in the bank, expansion underway & now clarity on energy costs for the both the business itself and its customers.

"Our High Streets are still changing quite dramatically and they will continue to evolve. Banking and betting can all be done online. Restaurant chains are actually back in growth for the first time in five years and that's because we can't replace that kind of eating and drinking at home," said PwC's Mr Tan.

Store closures at lowest level for seven years:

That is a pretty decent safety margin to consider an investment & surely question why this is not trading at more like 8p+

Mkt cap = £7.41mLast update advised:"The Company has now repaid the amount outstanding under the Facility of GBP1.1 million in full and has subsequently cancelled the Facility, leaving the Group with a net cash balance of approximately GBP8.6 million and no debt. There will be an annualised cost saving of approximately GBP57,000 (calculated at today's rates) through repayment, with no early repayment penalty. The Board believes that, with its current net cash and future cashflow, it will have sufficient funds to weather the prevailing economic uncertainties and cost pressures and also satisfy its measured expansion plans for a pipeline of up to five to six new units in 2022. The Board is progressing this strategy and has one new site under offer and is currently negotiating on three others."So, mkt cap is 15% discount to net cash and the business (now expanding) is all in for absolutely nothing whatsoever.

still seems much, much too cheap to me.
Folk are not all going to stop eating out … yes, some will do so but, others will 'trade down' from premium locations into TAST locations & existing customers will remain existing customers.
Students will be back at Uni next month & I imagine are a good customer source in some locations

obviously a 'contrarian' play at this stage but, there seems to be a reasonable margin of safety at these levels.
Hopefully we'll get some updates on the new openings per "one new site under offer and is currently negotiating on three others." & start to build some confidence

valued at £2m below Net Cash & a trading business thrown in for free.
Appreciate that Consumer Discretionary sector is out of favour right now but, fgsake, how cheap does it have to be before others see the value, let alone management confidence in sensible expansion?
Had a few more
